Numerical Analysis for Bed Changes due to Sediment Transport Capacity Formulas and Sediment Transport Modes using the CCHE2D Model원문보기

The calculation method using the numerical model developed with a single sediment transport equation and sediment transport mode is currently one of the most required methods to predict sediment transport and bed changes. However, the sediment discharge is differently predicted in the model due to the differently applied or selected sediment transport equations and it is also anticipated that the bed changes are calculated differently according to selected sediment transport equations. Also, as well as the sediment transport equation, the different sediment transport types such as bed load, suspended load, and total load transport modes affect modeling results in bed changes. Therefore, the sensitivity analysis and calibration process considering the different sediment transport equations and sediment transport modes should be performed for the accurate bed change prediction of the specified study reach using the a model. Through its process, the optimum sediment transport equation and mode for the study reach should be defined.
In this study, bed changes for the actual river are computed using the CCHE2D model which is the 2-dimensional flow and bed change model and allowed to select various sediment transport equations and modes. The study reach of numerical modeling is the approached channel of the Nakdong River Estuary Barrage (NREB) and two steps of numerical simulation are performed to select the optimum sediment transport equation and mode. The first step is the bed change sensitivity analysis with different ranges of river flow discharge. The Ackers and White and Engelund and Hansen formulas are used for the sediment transport equation and bed load, suspended load, and total load transport types are differently applied. The second step is the bed change simulation with the actual hydraulic condition in 2002 and the modeling results are compared with the field survey results.
As a result of the first step simulation, it was presented that the Ackers and White formula was more suitable for the study reach than the Engelund and Hansen formula to simulate bed changes. Also, bed change results in the bed load and suspended load transport types were quantitatively different, however the aspect was similar. The second step results of the actual hydraulic condition using the Ackers and White formula and two different transport modes (bed load and suspended load) represented that the bed change result predicted with the Ackers and White formula and bed load transport mode was close to the actual topographical field data.
