People have higher recognition on happiness gradually. This thesis intends to look into the process of pursuing happiness that children with high ego-resilience and children with low ego-resilience experience through psychological change processes in the stream. This thesis needed the research way to look into the process of students' pursuing happiness effectively because this thesis wanted to understand the process of pursuing happiness, basing on their real experiences. So, this thesis performed the research by using narrative research way, one of the qualitative ways. First, this thesis wanted to examine suitable participants in this research , and selected six students as participants in the research, basing on concept and characteristic of ego-resilience discussed in the theoretical background. This thesis selected various materials through students' diaries or email communications, centering on participants' deepening interviews and afterwards drew research results by analysing and interpreting the materials. First, the children with high ego-resilience, sharing stress with family, overcame stress and experienced happiness, cheered and advised by family. In addition, they included happiness first when discussing it and responded that they were happy thanks to family then, but the children with low ego-resilience overcame the status of stress alone, rather than sharing stress with other people, and had a little time to be with family. Second, as for interpersonal relations, the children with high ego-resilience were more considerate of others' status than their own status. When facing problems in the relationship with other persons, they felt happy, looking into the reason why the problems arose and experiencing affirmative psychological processes through checking their own behaviors. Finally, the children with high ego-resilience considered time given to themselves to be valuable, spent the time faithfully, and offered meaning day by day. They had a recognition that the days given to themselves were newly starting today, not those similar to yesterday, and pursued happiness, making efforts to do meaningful tasks by making a plan.
