The tide of immigration has been rough worldwide and recently many immigrants have found it particularly challenging, and those immigrating to South Korea are no exception to hat. The most common reason people immigrate is for economic factors. South Korea opened its doors to foreign workers in 1987 after establishing its Economic department. At that time Korean authorities offered jobs to foreign miners. Because their were few inter-cultural marriages prior to Korea opening its doors to immigrants, you can conclude that the history of multi-cultural families is similar to that of immigration in Korea. Various criteria constitute the multi-cultural family, however, multi-cultural families typically can be divided into three categories. The first being a marriage between male and female foreigners. The second being a marriage between a foreign male and a Korean female, and the last being a marriage between a Korean male and a female foreigner or immigrant. This research shows that female immigrants are deeply affected by the language barrier and cultural differences. However, this is not a problem they carry alone, it affects the entire family, including the Korean husband and their multi-cultural children. According to statistics gathered in June 2010, the foreign population in South Korea stands at approximately 1,208,554 persons, quadrupling the Amount recorded in the year 2000. Among the current foreign population in South Korea, those who are married is roughly 136,556 which is 5.4 times the number recorded in 2001.Itis expected that the number of multi-cultural families will continue to increase, but it is my belief that the Korean society and church isn't equipped to welcome them properly. The purpose of this research is to explore the following points. First, we'll study on how to accept the multi-cultural families who are nearby in our neighborhoods. Second, we'll look into how to evangelize them effectively. Third, we'll discover how to help them settle into the local church. Finally, we'll study how to train and strengthen them as workers of God's kingdom. This thesis consists of six chapters. The theme of each chapter is summarized here, with the first chapter being an introduction, followed by the second as a theoretical basis. The third chapter is about the circumstances of multi-cultural families and policies for them to abide by. The fourth chapter discusses multi-cultural family ministry samples, followed by the fifth chapter which brings light to church growth strategies through multi-cultural family ministries. The sixth and final chapter is the conclusion. The following is a more in depth summary of each chapter starting with the introduction which presents the social problems of multi-cultural families, the precedent research for them, the purpose of the research, and the definition of technical terms. The introduction also shows the direction of the thesis development. The second chapter sets the theoretical basis by looking into the General understanding of the multi-cultural family including an explanation of the definition of multi-culture, multi-cultural family, and multi-cultural church. Background information on several types of multi-cultural families and churches is provided. The second point explored in this chapter is about the biblical bases of the multi-cultural family. Therefore, examining the meaning of biblical Hebrew & Greek languages, the occurrence of multi-cultural families in the Bible, and the ongoing theme of the right attitude of the Israeli people throughout the scriptures. Thirdly, theological understanding of multi-culturalism is explored. For example, God's love for all people including those from different nationalities, the incarnation of Jesus Christ, the Great Commandment of Christ, and the Holy Spirit's anointing at Pentecost. Finally, the present condition of multi-cultural families is discussed including a correlation with the sojourn condition and the purpose of immigration, the nationality, and the residential district of those researched. The third chapter is discussing the present situation of multi-cultural Families and the government's policy for them. Generally speaking, most multi-cultural couples face numerous challenges and difficulties, among the me are, language and communication problems, residential or economic problems, spousal conflict and the obstacles related to their children's education. The harsh reality for multi-cultural children demands extra nurturing and security for the preschooler, accommodating an after-school life for elementary school students in addition to the sojourn situation related to the district, and the problem of self-identity. Secondly, child abuse in the family is revealed as well as the problems of ostracism and the depravity of equal rights, the third and fourth points respectively. Lastly, the reality of midway immigration juveniles. This research classifies and assesses the multi-cultural policies of local self-governing bodies in relation to the following regions of South Korea. Jangsoo-Gun represents the farming area, Jaechon-city represents the comblined city and farm complex area, Ahnsan-city represents the urbanized area, Kyeonggi-Do representing Do-district, and Incheon-city representing megalopolis. It also deals with Korean's awareness of the multi-cultural family, the Korean government's related law, and the policy for multi-culture. The related laws include the Immigration Control law, the Nationality law, the Foreigner treatment basic right law, the Marriage brokerage business law & the Multi-cultural family support law, etc. At last, it's studying the policy of the Ministry of Health & Welfare, Women & Family, the Ministry of Labor, and the Ministry of Culture, Tourism & Athletics. The fourth chapter of this research studies the cases of churches which are doing ministry for multi-cultural families. The churches researched are The Southern Garden Church, The Green
