In flight of airplanes, the windshear is being recognized as an important matter that threatens safety in case of a takeoff and landing of airplanes. LLWAS is a system that prevents an accident due to windshear in advance by detecting windshear like this. This research explains a summary of windshear and LLWAS, and investigated abnormal flight of domestic and foreign airplanes. In addition, this research has examined the occurrence frequency and properties of windshear of the Incheon International Airport, and analyzed the windshear occurrence mechanism corresponding to terrain characteristics and meteorological causes of the Airport by executing case analysis according to the cause and atmospheric pressure pattern of windshear. Windshear is a phenomenon that the direction and velocity of wind suddenly change within short horizontal and vertical distance in the atmospheric air, and appears as change of wind per unit distance. Due to this windshear, an airplane executing a takeoff and landing gets to be separated from a normal route, so it becomes a failure reason of a takeoff and landing. Currently, in order to detect a low-layer normal route, our country installed LLWAS equipment at the Incheon Airport, Jeju Airport and Yangyang Airport and is operating it, and installed Wind Profiler equipment at the Gimhae Airport, Yeosu Airport and Ulsan Airport and is operating it. Airplane accidents due to the weather in the country were 7.1% of total accidents, and are recently showing a trend increasing gradually. Airplane accidents due to the weather in foreign countries appeared to reach to 21.3% of the whole, and while the accident due to wind occupies almost the half among these, it appeared as a major reason of airplane accidents. The windshear in the Incheon Airport mostly appears to be less than 10 minutes, and a case that windshear continues for more than one hour didn't appear. When viewing meteorological phenomena being accompanied in case of occurrence of windshear according to each season, a case accompanied with a strong wind was the most in winter and spring, and a case accompanied with precipitation phenomena was much. The wind velocity of 2,000ft mainly appeared in case of the south high and north low type, and a strong wind of more than 21kt mainly appeared in case of cP expansion, whereas a wind of more than 21kt didn't appear in case of the east high and west low type. When the pressure gradient force and upper wind are strong, windshear appears well in case of cP expansion and south high and north low type, and it can be known that when the upper wind velocity is weak, windshear appears frequently in case of the east high and west low & north high south low type.
