The objective of this study is to identify the influence of a dance program on the stress management ability of abused children and their adaptability at school. In order to achieve such an objective, the following questions are suggested as the issues of the study. Firstly, is a Korean dance program effective for the stress management ability of abused children? Secondly, is such a dance program effective for their adaptability at school? For this study, 20 abused children were divided into the experimental group of ten and the controlled group of ten. Then, only the experimental group was provided with 16 sessions of the Korean dance program. In order to find out the stress management ability of abused children and their adaptability at school, the stress management criterion and the inspection tools for adaptability at school have been used. Regarding the data-analysis method, the t-test has been used between the experimental group and the controled group, in order to find out the homogeneity and effect between the two groups. Also, the responding sample t-test has been implemented regarding the pre- and post-inspections of the experimental group. The results which have been obtained by considering the above study results and discussions can be summarized as follows. Firstly, there is a difference regarding the stress management ability (aggressive, active, social, supportive, promotive, passive and aversive) based on the participation of the experimental and controlled groups in the Korean dance program. Secondly, according to the participation of the experimental and controlled groups in the Korean dance program, there is a difference regarding the adaptability of the abused children at school (regarding their relationships with teachers and friends, classes and rules). Thirdly, based on the pre- and post-conditions regarding the participation of the experimental group in the Korean dance program, there is a difference regarding the stress management ability (aggressive, active, social, supportive, promotive, passive and aversive). Fourthly, based on the pre- and post-conditions regarding the participation of the experimental group in the Korean dance program, there is a difference regarding the adaptability of the abused children at school (regarding their relationships with teachers and friends, classes and rules). In conclusion, this study has a significant point since it proves the effectiveness of the program through the improvement of the stress management ability of the abused children and their adaptability at school by applying the Korean dance program to them. Through this study, it is hoped that various programs could be developed by exchanging data with child protective agencies for the psychological treatment of the abused children.
