3. 일반사항에 따른 대중매체 영양정보의 관심도는 여학생이 남학생보다 높았고, 학년별로는 1학년 보다는 2, 3, 4학년에서 더 관심도가 높았다(p<0.05). 영양정보 중 가장 관심을 가지는 주제는 남학생은 식품 위생과 안전, 여학생은 비만과 다이어트로 유의적인 차이를 보였다(p<0.05). 성별, 학년, 전공, BMI별 가장 많이 영양정보를 습득하는 매체는 인터넷이었으며, 방법도 모든 군에서 대강 읽기, 듣기, 보기가 가장 많았다. 영양정보 중 개선되어야 할 내용은 모든 군에서 영양관리와 식생활에 유익한 정보로 조사되었고, 학년별로 유의적인 차이가 나타났다(p<0.05). TV에 대한 신뢰도는 3, 4학년이 1, 2학년 보다 높았다(p<0.01).
4. 식행동 점수는 50점 만점에 여학생 32.2점, 남학생 31.6점이었고, 자연공학계열이 33.5점으로 가장 높았다. 식행동 문항 중 아침식사 여부 3.9점으로 가장 점수가 높았고, 과식, 폭식과 동물성 기름, 콜레스테롤이 많은 음식의 섭취가 각각 2.2점으로 가장 낮은 점수가 나타났다.
5. 영양지식 20문항의 평균 정답률은 70.9%이었고, 영양문제 영역에서 80.8%로 정답률이 가장 높았으며, 위생과 안전 영역에서 34.3%로 가장 낮았다. 문항별로는 영양문제 영역의 ‘체내에 철분이 부족하면 빈혈에 걸린다’ 89.6%로 가장 높았고, 위생과 안전 영역의 ‘HACCP 마크는 친환경 식재료를 사용한 우수한 식품임을 정부가 인증한 표시이다’ 9.7%로 가장 낮았다.
6. 대중매체 영양정보 이용에 따라서 비교적 관심이 있는 군에서 식행동 점수는 50점 만점에 32.6점, 영양지식 점수 20점 만점에 14.5점으로 가장 높았다. 영양정보 주요 습득 매체가 정확한 정보를 전달한다고 판단되는 서적인 경우 식행동 점수는 35.5점으로 가장 높았으며, 영양지식 점수도 16.0점으로 가장 높았다. 식행동 점수 평균(32.0점) 이상의 군에서 영양지식 점수가 15.0점으로 식행동 점수 평균 이하의 군 13.5점 보다 높게 나타났다(p<0.001).
이상의 결과를 토대로 다음과 같이 제언을 하고자 한다. 조사대상자들의 대부분은 대중매체의 영양정보에 비교적 관심이 있었지만, 신뢰도가 높지 않았음을 미루어 볼 때 올바른 영양정보 전달을 위해 대중매체의 역할이 무엇보다 중요하며, 특히 대학생에게 이용도가 높은 인터넷과 TV를 이용한다면 올바른 영양정보를 전달하는데 효과적일 것이다. 본 연구 대상 대학생들의 영양지식은 보통으로 나타나 타 지역과 유사하였다. 식행동 점수가 높을수록 영양지식 수준도 높게 나타나는 것으로 미루어 볼 때 대학생에게 영양지식을 증진시킬 방안이 요구되며, 대중매체와 영양 정보 관련한 강좌를 개설하여 체계적인 교육이 필요할 것으로 사료된다. 강좌에서는 대중매체와 영양정보에 관한 내용을 다루어 정보를 비판하여 걸러내고 수용하는 적극적이고 능동적인 자세와 필요한 정보만을 찾아 정확하게 사용할 수 있는 안목을 키우는 노력이 필요하다. 또 영양정보 개선점으로 영양관리와 식생활에 유익한 정보를 가장 많이 지적하였으므로 식생활 적용성이 높은 정보를 제공하도록 노력해야 할 것이다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of public media on dietary behavior and the level of knowledge for nutrition of the university students. In this respect, level of concern, availability, reliability, dietary behavior and nutrition knowledge for the public media was surveyed by targeting 268 numbers of students in Daegu and Gyeongbuk area.
The results of this study was as follows:
1. Among the targets, female students accounted for 55.6%, male 44.5% and 1st grader 30.6%, 2nd grader 19.0%, 3rd grader 25.4%, and 4th grader 25.0%, respectively. It was revealed that in terms of major, affiliation of liberal arts accounted for 50.4%, affiliation of natural science, 30.6% and affiliation of arts/physical education, 16.8%, respectively. In terms of BMI, normal weight accounted for 63.8%, low weight, 22.8%, over weight, 9.4% and obesity, 4.1%, respectively.
2. As a result of survey for concern over public media by the university students, it was revealed that students responded with average accounted for 38.1% which was the largest ratio among the respondents. The most popular subject of the public media was revealed to be obesity and diet. Media that obtained the largest nutrition information was surveyed to be internet(61.6%) and the method of acquiring nutrition information was divided into rough reading, listening and watching(63.1%) which means that most of the information was acquired through watching media. A part that needed urgent improvement was nutritional management and information useful for actual life(36.9%) and the reliability of nutrition information provided by the pubic media was revealed to the highest as 3.80/5 points in the field of TV.

Female students had shown more concern over nutrition information provided by the public media based on the general characteristics than the male students and in terms of each grade, 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders had shown more concern than 1st graders(p<0.05). The most popular subject among the nutrition information was revealed to be food sanitation and safety in case of the male students and obesity and diet in case of the female students(p<0.05). Media that acquired the largest nutrition information depending on gender, grade, major, and BMI was internet and in terms of its method of acquiring information, method of rough reading, listening and watching had shared the largest portion in all the groups. Among the nutrition information, the contents that was required to be improved were surveyed to be nutrition management and information useful for dietary life in all the groups and depending on each grade, a significant difference was shown(p<0.05). In case of accountability of TV, 3rd and 4th graders had shown more accountable for TV than 1st and 2nd graders.

In terms of score of dietary behavior of which full score was 50, score of female students was 32.2 points and male 31.6 points, respectively and that of affiliation of natural science was revealed to the highest as 33.5 points(p<0.05). Among the questions of dietary behavior, score for habit of taking breakfast was the highest as 3.9 points and score for habit of overeating, binge and taking food of high animal fat and cholesterol was revealed to the lowest as 2.2.

Average rate of correct answer of 20 questions for nutrition knowledge was 70.9% and in the area of nutrition-related questions, rate of correct answer was revealed to the highest as 80.8% followed by sanitation and safety as 34.5% which was the lowest. Question with the highest rate of correct answer was nutrition-related question , insufficiency of iron in the body leads to anemia'. and its score was 89.6% and question with the lowest rate was sanitation and safety-related question, 'HACCP is a government-certified mark representing an excellent food using eco-friendly food material'. and its score was 9.7%.

In the relatively interested groups depending on use of nutrition information of public media, score of dietary behavior was 32.6 points (full score is 50 points), followed by score of nutrition knowledge as 14.5(full score is 20) which was the highest. In case of books that were considered to the best media for addressing nutrition information, score of dietary behavior was 35.5 points which was the highest followed by nutrition knowledge as 16.0 points which was also the highest. In the group of which dietary behavior score was over average(32 points), score of nutrition knowledge was 15.0 points which was higher than that of group of which score was below the average of dietary behavior(13.5)(p<0.001).
In view of the above result, it is considered that the role of public media is more important than anything else and in particular, if internet and TV that are favoured by the university students, should be utilized, it would be effective for addressing right nutrition information. As the score of dietary behavior is getting higher, so is the level of nutrition knowledge raised and therefore, a method of enhancing nutrition knowledge of the university students is required and efforts shall be exerted so that information and knowledge having high applicability of dietary life rather than a simple information for nutrition and health would be provided.
