This study is done through pre-research on the children who experiences difficulty of exercise learning in physical education classes and who are male elementary school students(ages: 7-9) of Jeonra-bukdo region as first, second, or third graders, and the total number of the subjects is 338. The 24 students who were experiencing developmental coordination disorder among total 29 students were selected as the subjects(experimental group students 12, control group students 12). To the 12 students in the experimental group participated in Taekwondo training program five times a week(50minutes per time), and the students in the control group didn't participate in the program. paired t-test and after-paired t-test were done to verify the effect of Taekwondo training for the students who were experiencing developmental coordination disorder on the physical self-description and fundamental motor ability, and to compare the training effect of Taekwondo, ANCOVA was done to compare the training effect of Taekwondo, making physical self-description and fundamental motor ability covariance, and the result is as follows. 1. For the students who were experiencing developmental coordination disorder and who participated in Taekwondo training program, after-paired t-test showed more statistically significant difference than pre-paired t-test in the factors of physical self-description(appearance, health, flexibility, confidence of sports, muscle power, and muscle endurance, etc.)(p<.001). We can see that Taekwondo training program shows positive effect on self-description factors. And regarding the children who were experiencing developmental coordination disorder, after-paired t-test showed negative effect than after- paired t-test, and especially in regular training factor, the difference of the times of exercise was statistically significant(p<.01). The comparison on every factors of experimental group and control group showed statistically significant difference, showing positive effect both at pre- paired t-test and after- paired t-test(p<.001). 2. Regarding the children who were experiencing developmental coordination disorder and who were participated in Taekwondo training program, after-paired t-test showed more statistically significant difference than pre-paired t-test in the factor of fundamental motor ability(p<.001). We can see that Taekwondo training program shows positive effect on the factor of fundamental motor ability. Although the children who were experiencing developmental coordination disorder showed marginal positive effect at after-paired t-test, when considering the period was the rapid growing one, it can be said as natural effect, and there was no statistically significant difference. However, balance factor(p<.001) and general endurance factor(p<.01) showed statistically significant difference. Regarding the fundamental motor ability factor, there was statistically significant difference at pre-paired t-test and after-paired t-test both in experimental group and in control group on every factors except general endurance factor, showing positive effect(p<.001). According to the result, regarding the effect of 12 weeks of Taekwondo training program on the factors of physical self-description and fundamental motor ability, it can be said that the children who experiences developmental coordination disorder and who have less physical activity through various movement of Taekwondo training program can minimize the continual failure of movement, and in the ages of 7 - 9 in which base fundamental motor ability can be developed hugely, proper development of fundamental motor ability and forming of relationships can have the positive effect on physical self-description and fundamental motor ability through psychological effect. As a result, Taekwondo training program can have a great positive impact on the psychological, physical, and social development of the children who experiences developmental coordination disorder, and it can also have positive effect on physical self-description and fundamental motor ability. When the interest and physical aptitude of the children who experiences developmental coordination disorder is considered, and when the Taekwondo program which has proper difficulty and systematic formation which is proper for the children is designed, future studies can be more improved ones.
