연구에 사용된 측정도구는 지적장애 아동의 운동능력 및 체력측정과 관련된 BPFT(Brockport PhysicalFitness Test), BOTMP(Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency), PAPS(Physical Activity Promotion System), TGMD-2(Test of Gross Motor Development-Second Edition)의 검사도구와 선행연구 고찰을 통해 지적장애 아동의 인지 및 운동특성을 가장 잘 반영할 수 있는 체력 및 운동능력 검사 항목들을 선정하였다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the school-aged in children receiving special education with intellectual disabilities and Down syndrome as a component of physical fitness cardiorespiratory endurance, flexibility, muscular strength, muscular endurance, quickness, agility, balance, bilateral coordination, body composition and fundamental motor skills is locomotor skills and object control skills of the subordinate positions for the skills to compare differences between the two groups. Main purpose of this study to achieve the following specific research questions were set. First, investigate differences physical fitness between children with intellectual disabilities and down syndrome. Second, investigate differences ability of the fundamental motor skills between children with intellectual disabilities and down syndrome. The subjects surveyed consisted of each 14 children with intellectual disabilities and down syndrome the ages of 7 to 14 living in Seoul and Kyonggi Province, in conjunction with local communities to participate in the School of physical education. Measurement tools used in the study of children with intellectual disabilities associated with exercise ability and physical measurements, BPFT(Brockport Physical Fitness Test), BOTMP(Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency), PAPS(Physical Activity Promotion System), TGMD-2(Test of Gross Motor Development-Second Edition). From literature review and inspection tools, children with intellectual disabilities of cognitive and motor characteristics that can reflect the physical fitness test items were selected. Items selected for measurement and three special physical education professionals also verified contents validity. Statistical analysis was used by independent verification t-test for difference two groups and using the SPSS18.0 data analysis program for research purposes in accordance with the data collected were statistically analyzed . At this time, the significance level was set .05 level. Through this study, the finding were as follows. First, children with intellectual disabilities and children with down syndrome, except for body composition, flexibility, There were statistically significant differences in cardiovascular endurance (16M shuttle run, p=.002), strength(grip strength, left(p=.009) right(p=.006)), muscle endurance (sit-ups, p=.002), quickness(horizontal jump, p=.000), 35M power running, p=.011), Agility(10M shuttle run, p=.001), balance (preferably foot balance, p=.006), bilateral coordination (jumping and clapping, p=.021). In other words, children with down syndrome compared to children with intellectual disabilities were being delayed in terms of physical fitness. Second, children with intellectual disabilities and down syndrome except for bouncing and kicking they all manipulate striking(p=.000), catching(p=.000), throwing(p=.001), rolling(p=.000). it is showed a statistically significant difference in the object control skills. run(p= .000), gellop(p=.037), hop(p=.000), leap(p=.012), horizontal jump(p=.000), slide(p=.000) in the locomotor motor skills also showed a statistically significant difference. Therefore, in the basic moving skill, the results of the comparison object control skills(p=.000) and locomotor skills(p=.000) all children with down syndrome children with intellectual disabilities compared to the level of fundamental motor skills that can be seen that delay . The results of school-aged in children with down syndrome, in the area of physical fitness and fundamental motor skills, compared to children with intellectual disabilities show a significant defect. Thus, children with down syndrome and intellectual disability should understand the characteristics of exercise according to the type of disability and devise an exercise program and to apply it is needed.
