A generalization of medical imaging technology brought many advantages such as fast result aquisition, a reduction of treatment time and enlargement of diagnostic area. However, it also caused many problems like its unique noise, loss of information during image storage and transmission, and a decline in definition occurring when medical image is output on monitor. This study is to suggest an evaluation method of MR-image, one of the digital medical images, in connection with noise and a decline in definition occurring in process of from signal acquisition to monitor display. For an experiment, normal Brain MR image was used, and the original scanned image within MRI and dcm stored in server were used as well. I measured the degree of a decline in definition of MR image by displaying it on CRT and LCD monitors display. Also, I made a program for PSNR measurement using Visual C ++ and used it for the experiment. The result of the experiment revealed that when digital medical image is stored and transmitted in sever in the form of dcm, there was not much information loss, and definition was so good that PSNR was over 49dB. On the other hand, in case of digital medical image output on CRT and LCD monitors, its PSNR was relatively low - about 15dB, and noise was produced in the output image, which caused distortion of image.
