A study on selection of Domestic Optimization Distribution for tire products
In current, Korea National Logistics expense and corporate logistics expense compared to GDP is much higher than major advanced conutries. this also significatly affects the nationnal competiveness, which should be improved. Therefore, this study is aimed to identify the problems by analyzing the current status of the national logistics bases and to propose the solutions at national and corporate level. This study was conducted focusing on the case of a demestic logistics H company.
This study analyed the major considerations in calculating the logistics expense of H company and then propose the measures for the domestic companies to find the improvements through selection the logistic distribution center by deriving out the quantitatives effects.
This study will estimate the cost saving effect of operating integrated bases focusing an optimization of the logistics Depot for the domestic Tire Industry.
To solve those problem, in this paper, I examine the characteristics of apparel logistics in terms of logistics, and I present 3-alternatives the optimization of the logistics Depot for the domestic Tire Industry.
1 alternative : Three wide-area DC(distribution center) to be established to reduce operating costs, and is an alternative to minimize transportation costs.
2 alternative : Hub for the construction of a large class of Mega DC focused operating inventory by increasing inventory availability, minimize operating costs and improving services.
3 alternative : Regional logistics center consolidation to operate a regional Wide Area DC 8 places by promoting the commercial district scale and regional Wide-Area to increase operating efficiency and minimize new investment alternatives.
Selected for the final model, the four elements (transport costs, logistics services, enforceability, opportunities - risk) were assessed.
Evaluation result of alternative 3 most desirable locations nation wide regional Wide Area DC 8 to install the operating and economic respectively.
In addition, Delivery Lead time, in summary, in terms of logistics service emergency order response, a small amount of long-range order, and operational reliability in all respects appeared to be the most favorable alternative 3.
Thus, alternative 3 to be selected as logistics Depot for the domestic Tire Industry.
