This study is aimed to examine the effect of the brands of hand creams on their qualities and purchasing behaviors. Firstly, it is shown that the rate of people who use hand creams is 90.5% but the rate of people who don't is 9.5%, with which it is found that the former one is remarkably high. It is shown as well that the rate of people who answered ‘yes’ to the question whether they purchase hand creams is 89.% and the rate of people who answered ‘no’ is 10.5%. For the awareness about hand creams, the survey shows that it is highly aware that those with imported brands must be superior in their qualities to those with Korean ones. It is also highly aware that expensive hand creams are superior in their qualities to cheap ones. Secondly, in order to select the hand creams for the use in the clinical test, five imported ones and ten Korean ones were selected in advance and their prices, volumes, and ingredients were analyzed. It is resulted from the analysis that each of their volumes are not the same; they were from 50 ml to 150 g, individually. Their price per 1ml(or1g) is from 57.5 Korean Won to 233.33 Korean Won, which shows about 4 times' differences. It is shown by the analysis for their ingredients that glycerin, a moisturizing ingredient and cetearyl alcohol are contained in all of them in common and dimethicone is found at the two imported ones and the five Korean ones. Thirdly, through the clinical test, it is found that moisture and oil are increased significantly before and after using the imported ones and the Korean ones. But there is not any differences between the imported ones and the Korean ones in their increments. There is no difference in their qualities in accordance with their prices. Fourthly, through the test for the moisture-lasting capability, it is found that there is not any differences in their moisture-lasting capabilities in comparison with the imported ones and the Korean ones and also with the expensive ones and the cheap ones, before and after using them. As a summary for the above, it is found that differing from the awareness that the more expensive hand creams are, the better their qualities are, the differences of the brand and price of them are not related to their qualities.
