As the population of the aged increases as the average life span is extended along with the development of medical technology in our society, and the improvement in the standard of living resulted from economic development, a variety of problems surrounding them come into being and challenges at the old age are on the rise as important concerns in many areas. Efficient use of leisure time at the old age has been discussed, and needs of support of seniors' leisure activity, program development and expansion of facilities have been increasing. Among senior leisure and welfare facilities, total 281 senior welfare centers are currently operated as of 2012, and they are facilities which provide all the services so that senior citizens can do healthy and sound leisure activity. In addition, for today's elderly people, they are increasing who have diverse ways of thinking and lifestyles through different social and economic growth and diverse experiences in it unlike senior citizens in the past, and as a result, needs are getting diverse. It's necessary to reflect their diverse needs and to make their leisure life still more abundant. This study aimed to understand the actual status of the use and the tendency of the multiple use of senior welfare centers taking their lifestyles into consideration, and therefore, it intends to seek for methods of revitalization of efficient senior welfare centers to respond to their diversifying preferences and to meet needs of leisure life. Surveys were conducted with senior welfare center users over the age of 60, and collected data was analyzed employing SPSS 19.0. Senior citizens using senior welfare centers were using 1-3 programs for around 1-2 hours twice or three times a week for the purpose of general education, learning or spending spare time, and for programs, they were mostly using program rooms and auditoriums for health promotion education, and hobby/leisure activity and accordingly, it's necessary to develop programs associated with physical healthy as those which do not require long time. For senior citizens' daily lives, it was found that they mostly enjoyed watching TV , listening to radio, reading newspapers or doing light exercise before eating breakfast, and they mostly enjoyed using elderly facilities, watching TV, listening to radio, and reading newspapers in the morning. In the afternoon, they mostly used elderly facilities, and met neighbors or friends, and after suppertime, they mostly enjoyed watching, listening to radio, and reading newspapers as the study found. Therefore, it's necessary to plan elderly people's leisure activities taking time-based differences in their daily lives into consideration, and it's desirable to plan them so that local residents can use senior welfare centers during evening hours by opening them. The elderly people's lifestyles were composed of social activity type, introverted/timid type, traditionalism type, and family-centered type, and as a result of analyzing groups, 4 groups were observed including 'active timid type', 'family-centered type', 'active traditionalism type', and 'family-centered+timid type'. For the actual status of the use of senior welfare centers depending on lifestyles, the 'active timid type's using hours were long in relation to using time, and the 'family-centered+timid type's using hours were short as the study found. For programs they joined, the 'active timid type' mostly joined hobby/leisure education, and the 'family-centered type' and the 'family-centered+timid type' mostly participated in health promotion education. For using space, except for program rooms, the 'active timid type' mostly used cafeterias, and the 'family-centered type' and the 'active traditionalism type' mostly used auditoriums, and the 'family-centered+timid type' mostly used auditoriums and information rooms, and program rooms were used often by every group as the study found. In relation to using programs of senior welfare centers, it's better to form programs reflecting users' preferences and change in trends rather than providing one-way programs. In our view, it's necessary to provide services to users by understanding lifestyle types when consulting about programs. The mixed use of the senior welfare center was relatively positive, and complexion with local residents also received positive reaction, but insufficient equipment and supplies, deterioration of facilities and the like were considered as inconvenience. For potential complexion space, the proportion of commercial space was high, and meeting space, health promotion space, and welfare/benefits spaces were found in order. Thus, it's good to help improve welfare by providing diverse services as senior welfare facilities, social welfare facilities, and commercial facilities are combined. Complexion by lifestyle was relatively positive, and in daily life by lifestyle, for all of the 4 groups, watching TV, listening to radio, reading newspapers was of great importance before eating breakfast as the study found. It was observed that senior citizens' daily lives have their own patterns rather than appearing diversely, but their lifestyles will get more diverse in the future with different cultural experiences compared to the past, economic growth, and improvements in knowledge level. Therefore, it's necessary to apply senior citizens' lifestyle types by dividing them in detail, to understand the types, and to reflect their needs depending on the types. Also, it's desirable to provide better services by applying identified lifestyle patterns to other areas and understanding the elderly people's needs.
