The genre of modern art has various common characters of its own, and the strong common characters of the artists’ that cross over the boundaries. In this periodical situation, I have only used naturalistic creational techniques, and the research of this study has been conducted to find the underlying solution of my own work. In doing research on naturalistic creational techniques, such as colors, structure, and especially beam techniques, and impressionist artists, research on the works of Claude Monet (1840~1926), an artist who used various lights of colors to organize the view of the world in the art works, got me to understand the questions that Monet put into the drawings through naturalistic expression techniques of lights and color changes in the image of the life and hills of his home, and used to fall deeply into Monet’s ideological theory. Monet disintegrated the lights and colors from its natural form and expressed perceptually, and although there are many pieces that expressed the nature in the view of artistic creation in western art, there are no artists before the impressionists who focused that much in the visional process of the work. Impressionist artists realized that objects don’t have its own colors but could look differently by the way it is reflected by the light and that people recognize the object through the information perceived in the retina, and with the scientific research about human’s visual perception as the basis, wanted to quickly put down to the canvas the momentary spectrum of various colors that was caught in the eyes. Through the works of Monet, I have considered impressionist painting’s formational background, characters, and impressionistic effects. Monet has founded impressionist together with Renoir, and Monet was the only one among the impressionist artists who focused on the impressionist viewpoint about the nature until the last moment. From 1890, Monet changes the research into new and ingenious direction to emphasize the subjective, sensuous, and irrational aspects of the moment in impressionist’s principle. As a result, Monet has finished haystack, poplar, Rouen Cathedral, scenery of London and Venetia, and continuance works of ‘water lilies’ that was finished during the last years, and those are all experiments of disintegrated forms and autonomous expression about colors. Theses points are the most important elements that his works has done on the modern art and the artistic adventure that he pursued. In this study, Monet is a great artist who had a great impact on the modern art through new topic, who rejected anecdotal aspect in the drawings and at the same time led a technical revolution in painting, and also who endlessly developed his own world of work through continuous pieces. Through the result of this research, a research about colors, structure, and especially beam techniques based on naturalistic creational methods, the impressionist centered artists and the work’s view of the world have been defined, and the importance of various visual analysis and research in future Monet’s work philosophy has been recognized.
