This study on integrative music activities using classical music suggests the following guidelines for children’s education of music. First, despite the general avoidance of classical music for educational purpose because the classical music has been regarded too difficult to use for children’s music activity, it may be used as an ideal subject matter for integrative music activities for children. However, the selection and arrangement of music appropriate to the children's musical capability is necessary and also appropriate song words should be created for the music. Reliable basic principles and a model for organizing criteria in creating song-words appropriate to children should be established by those experts concerned. The establishment of such a model of criteria will greatly enable the composer to create song-words to the classical music and it will be used as a criterion for evaluation of the song-words to determine their appropriateness to children. In establishing the model, all three major components of children's songs should be considered: the linguistic component, literature component, and musical component. It is because focusing on a particular component will lead to an abnormal and inappropriate model of criteria. Thus, as the model of criteria the present study has been established by taking into consideration all three components of children's songs, it may be used as a basic frame of standard for those people or institutions concerning the creation of song-words. Second, one of the main tasks of children's music educators is to create an action program to be used in the field of education with the classical music for which appropriate song-words are created according to the model for organizing criteria. The program should include plans for individual music activities and it is desirable to suggest methodologies for using various teaching media - various picture scores, real things, visual materials, and props - which will support the teaching activity, draw children's attention and enhance the learning efficiency as well as evaluation tools. At the same time, an activity program is need to be produced that connects the contents domain of music with other domains of art education and academic subjects. Thus, the activity program suggested in the present study may be regarded as an action plan that may be used as a guideline. Third, the analysis of the result for the application of the classical music program is significant as an important procedure of feedback. Thus, it is determined whether the activity program pursued and composed theoretically has been produced with a subjective idea and judgment or whether it contains necessary rationality, validity, and reliability. In other words, the analysis of the result shows to what degree the researcher's objective and plan of the activity corresponds to the children's real response or if there is any incongruence. The present study confirms that the result of application of the action program was highly positive. It is found that the use of various teaching media such as diverse picture scores, real musical instruments, visual materials, and props has supported the teaching activity, and has a decisive influence in drawing children's attention and familiarizing them to music. By activating various perceptive organs at the same time mobilizing the whole body, children have shown integrated activities of expression incorporating language, literature, science, action, and art. In so doing, they have also revealed a diverse and unexpected level of creativity. The present study, which has composed an action program, starting with the theoretical approach of creating song-words, and analyzed the result of applying the program in the real field, may be considered to have its significance in having verified the importance of the connection of the theory and practice. In conclusion, different from the prejudice about the classical music for its difficulty in applying to the children's music activity, the present study has confirmed that the classical music, if it is selected wisely to fit the children and composed appropriately, may be used as a very ideal material for an integrated music activity for children. The present study offers the following proposals about the integrated music activity using the classical music. First, different from the prejudice about the classical music for its difficulty in applying to the children's music activity, the classical music may be used as a very ideal material for an integrated music activity for children. Therefore, it is desirable that the educational field as well as the academia should make more effort to establish policies for using the classical music to children's music activity. Second, researches and development of textbooks are required to support children's music activity through the classical music. After selecting classical music appropriate to children, textbooks with appropriate song-words created for children should be written and published. Also, the governmental level of support is needed for children's music activity using the classical music. For instance, it is advisable that action materials for teaching children should be developed at the level of curriculum and supplied to children's teachers. Third, with regard to the education of culture and art, more attention should be paid to the children's music education using the classical music. It may be the right direction of children's education requested in this period of culture and communication.
