The ultimate goal of education is to make people achieve self-realization and to have proper views on their lives and attitude to persue happiness by maximizing their potential. However, knowledge-based education and excessive competition in entrance examinations have hindered intrinsic academic motivation of the students. Also, the lack of education of humanism made it difficult for the students to respect others. This study was carried out to solve these problems that the absence of humanism in education is producing and the author is seeking solution by giving praises to the children which can stimulate their intrinsic motivation. Praise is a verbal reward which stimulates children's intrinsic motivation to do desirable behaviors and also it facilitates their academic learning. Praise can be applied to various ways in education field. To be concrete, there are material praise, verbal praise, social praise like smile, actional praise like giving free time or preferable activities, symbolic praise like certificate or medal and evaluation praise like grade or score. Appropriate praise that fits into children's different stages of development is not only an encouragement and reward but also a good assistant to help them develop by changing their behaviors. Firstly, there is a positive praise in giving-praise method. It makes children feel acknowledged by bringing a positive emotion and it helps them respect themselves. In the second place, we can praise child's behavior which is based on the past, present and future. A praise based on the past makes children feel confident by giving praise about the behavior that they did in the past. A praise based on the present helps children develop autonomy and spontaneity and it gives them self-directed ability. A praise based on the future encourages children to be creative and enthusiastic by giving praise about their curiosity and self-planning. Thirdly, there is a praise that is given in a different period. It includes continuous praise, intermittent praise, immediate praise, delayed praise and pre-to-post praise. In a continuous praise, we give a repetitive praise to make children do good behavior. Intermittent praise is very effect when children are deficient in self-respect, It requires a sharp observation. Immediate praise is given as soon as the event happens. Beforehand praise is given before the action happens to create a good atmosphere. On the other hand, delayed praise is given after the action happened and it is follow-up praise. There are four effects of praise. Fist of all, it helps children's sociality development by improving their interpersonal relations. Secondly, the children grown up with abundant praise develop self-respect because their value and importance were evaluated fairly. In the third place, praise reinforces children's motive of accomplishment. Lastly, praise fosters children's moral sense. The concrete methods and effects of praise in education field will be shown like these in respect of education of humanism regarding virtues, brain development and praise according to their ages and situational praise. Above all, praise patterns which is related to the various behaviors in schools and home should be developed and applied in order to let them know of appropriate behavior and grow up as mature ethical people who can understand other people. Secondly, proper praise that fits in to the child's stage of development have a strong influence of the brain development. Infants do not have any linguistic competence yet, so non-verbal praise like skinship and smile is very effective. Toddlers are very sensitive to the fact that people pay attention, and through this, they correct and control their behaviors. Therefore, this period requires enough positive feedback, that is, positive praise to the child's mistake. Three-year-old children are strongly self-centered, and they judge things by the result, not by the process. So, in this period, we need to help them not to focus on the result and give praise regarding the process. Four-year-old children develop their the frontal lobe, and they needs emotional sense of stability with praise. we should help them think expansively by giving them sufficient praise. Five-year-old children starts to develop their social communication skills, so they need very specific praise method. Lastly, praise should be familiar in the daily life experience that combines children's social life, home life and school life and it should be repeated until it becomes the children's habit and finally the children build an upright character. To summarize this study, there are five suggestions of praise in education field. Firstly, infantile education needs praise-related program study and application that educe the children's capacity. Secondly, concrete praise methods that can be easily applied are necessary in education environment. Thirdly, we should create an atmosphere where children and teachers can respect each other and communicate well. Fourthly, continuous and long-term praise plan should be established and good environment should be created in children's home and schools to promote practice of the plan. Fifthly, teacher-training programs on giving proper praise according to the children's individual development stage and characteristic are necessary.
