The purpose of this study was to examine the condition of the internet use and satisfaction of internet health information for college students. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 800 students of randomly selected 10 colleges located in Daegu and Gyeongbuk province in December 2012. 766 respondents among them were examined and analyzed using the following method: t-Test and ANOVA to compare averages by groups, correlation to know relationship between elements, and regression analysis to find elements that affect to the satisfaction of internet health information. Major findings of this study are summarized as follows. For demographical description by method of health information acquisition, 41.1% of respondents were under the age of 19 year. 52.0% of respondents were freshmen and 34.5% were sophomores. Majors of respondents were 29.0% as science departments, 28.6% as engineering departments, 26.5% as public health departments, and 15.9% as other departments. 60.3% of respondents have lived in their house. 51.2% of respondents answered their health status as normal and 40.9% answered as healthy. 85.5% of respondents had no sick people in their family. Among 571 respondents answering the internet use, the total average score of motivations on the internet use was 3.19 and there were significant differences in academic year(p<0.01) and health status(p<0.05). According to effects of internet use, the total average score was 3.04, but there was no meaningful difference among subgroups. The total average score of reliability in internet information was 3.02 and showed significant differences in gender(p<0.05) and major department(p,0.05). The total average score of satisfaction on internet utilization was 3.18 and major department(p<0.01) and existence of sick people in their family(p<0.05) were statistically different. Motivations, effects of internet use and reliability of internet information were all meaningfully correlated with satisfaction of internet utilization. Especially, the results showed that reliability of internet information had the highest co-relation to satisfaction of internet utilization. The result of regression analysis showed that satisfaction of internet utilization was higher when gender, major, effects of health information, convenience, comprehension, reliance, and up-to-dateness were satisfied by them. This meant that satisfaction of internet health information of male students majoring in public health was higher when they satisfied with getting higher care information effect, convenience seek effect, comprehension, reliance, and up-to-dateness. The study suggested that the health information on internet should be more reliable, comprehensive and up-to-date for college students to maintain and promote their health.
