This is a study of examining the influence of eco-systematic factors upon independence targeting self-sufficiency program participants who are composed focusing on the national basic livelihood security recipients of local self-sufficiency centers in Daegu area. The purpose of this study is to figure out the influence of eco-systematic factors as a plan of encouraging self-sufficiency program participants' independence, and to seek an effective plan. The survey subjects were 222 self-sufficiency program participants of 6 local self-sufficiency centers in Daegu area. Research contents were surveyed, analyzed and considered which influence the independence gets from the individually systematic factors in self-sufficiency participants' general characteristics, mental health, and drinking problem and from the socially and environmentally systematic factors in family function, social support, and drinking culture. The results are as follows. First, as for self-sufficiency participation subjects, women's ratio was higher than men. The result with the highest ratio was shown in their 50s as for age, in high school graduate as for academic background, in divorce/separation/bereavement as for marital status, in social job type as for a working form, in 3 people as for number of cohabiting family members, in more than 3 years as for self-sufficiency working period, and in thinking as saying of being 'so-so' as for health status. Second, as a result of surveying and analyzing the independence level of 222 whole subjects, 26 points∼30 points showed the highest frequency. It showed averagely 29 points out of 40 points as the maximum value. Thus, the relatively high independence could be observed. Seeing the difference in independence level according to general characteristics, namely, the independence according to gender, age, marital status, family member number, working period, and health status was indicated to be insignificant. The significant difference was shown only in academic background. Third, as for factors of influencing independence of self-sufficiency program participants, the mental health was indicated to have influence as the individual systematic factor. The lower independence was shown in the higher depression & anxiety and in the more unhappiness & inconvenience of daily life. As the socially and environmentally systematic factors, the family function and social support were indicated to have influence. Examining specifically, the independence was indicated to be higher in the higher social support for an individuals' psychological adjustment by significant social support network and in the healthier family function and in the more functionally working. Fourth, it is the actual condition of risk drinking in self-sufficiency participants, which was shown as a result of surveying the drinking problem. Among 58 male self-sufficiency participants, the group with the risk drinking and the group with the estimated alcohol use disorder were shown to be 26 people with 45%. Among 164 female self-sufficiency participants, the group with the risk drinking and the group with the estimated alcohol use disorder were shown to be 56 people with 34%. Especially, what is noteworthy was shown to be the result that female drinkers' ratio of the group with the estimated alcohol use disorder was higher than men. This is what shows a section of women's drinking problem, which wasn't exposed, in addition to the permission of drinking culture caused by women's advance to society. According to the above results, the following plans are aimed to be suggested for encouraging independence of self-sufficiency program participants. First, specific intervention will be needed in mental health problem of self-sufficiency participation subjects. There will be a need of developing rehabilitation program and of supplementing the personnel of counseling within institution in order to increase self-sufficiency participation subjects' recognition on mental health and to suggest effective problem-solving plan. Second, there will be a need of devising a plan for reinforcing social support system. Social support was clarified to have significant relationship. Thus, the application of program is demanded that is available for evaluating participation subjects' environmental system, for having proper intervention in it given occurrence of problem, and for being participated by family members. Also, the foundation of social support will need to be expanded through connection of community resources. Third, the connection with the specialized institution will need to be made imminently for the early intervention in the group with high risk drinking. Especially, women's ratio in the group with the estimated alcohol use disorder is high. Hence, a drinking problem will need to be improved with the application of rehabilitation program in line with the individual counseling and the subject-based characteristic by connection with alcohol counseling center in terms of intervention in female self-sufficiency participants.
