The purpose of this study is to develop an a cappella club activity program for high school students that have not reached middle school curriculum achievement level or lacking in their musical abilities by allowing them to directly experience music using creative experiential activity time and creating & completing polyphony music to improve their musical abilities. Accordingly, definition & types of musical ability and contents, areas & areas of creative experiential activity and educational significance were examined in theoretical background. In addition, it reviewed the genre of a capella and various instruction methods through literature, and deduced implications for this study by analyzing previous studies for improving a capella and musical ability. Based on this, an a capella club program was designed and developed to improve rhythm, tune, harmony, form, tone, dynamic and tempo that are sensible abilities of musical abilities. It has been developed to allow students to improve the mixed rhythm of quarter note and eighth note in the area of rhythm, while allowing them to improve impromptu play of synchronism in rhythm, essential harmony in harmony and popular song form frequently used in singing in form. In addition, they were allowed to explore their voices on their own and a program was developed and presented to allow students to feel, understand and apply dynamic and tempo as relative concepts. As for the result of this study, the a capella club program that has been developed to improve musical abilities has the following characteristics. First, for students that have not reached middle school curriculum achievement level in their musical abilities, realization to voluntarily improve their musical abilities through this program can be cultivated, through which their musical abilities can be improved on their own. Second, this program composed activities to improve in steps the rhythm, tune, harmony, form, tone, dynamic and tempo that are sensible abilities of musical abilities, through which students can realize musical lifestyle by participating with musical confidence. Third, they can cultivate cooperative spirit and leadership through the process of making music through discussions as they consist in teams according to the characteristic of a capella, through which they can cultivate sociality. It is hoped that experimental study will follow that can verify the effects of the program developed through this study by being applied in school field in the future. In addition, it is hope that various programs will be developed to improve musical abilities by using a capella also in curriculum lessons in addition to the program for creative experiential activity through a capella.
