It is surveyed total 1,000 subjects from 4 middle schools: 2 schools provide a paid meal plan and 2 schools provide a free meal plan. In this survey, general information of subjects, opinion about their meal plan, and perception, necessity, and satisfaction of a free meal plan were compared and analyzed. The results of this survey are as follow. Average age of the target middle school students with paid meal plan was 13.1; its free meal plan students were 12.8, which is significantly high. Average weight of middle school students with paid meal plan was 58.5kg and 22.7kg/m2, which was significantly higher than 55.9kg and 21.9kg/m2 from its free meal plan students. 32.4% of paid meal plan students, who answered for the question of why the target students have meal plan, was that the school asked to have. Comparatively, 33.6% of free meal plan students answered that it is nutritional, which shows significant differences (p<0.001). After initiation of free meal plan, there were significant differences of that 77.6% of paid meal plan section answered that quality of the meal plan is degraded, and 74.4% of free meal plan section answered that it is not degraded(p<0.001). For necessity of free meal plan, 70.4% of paid meal plan students answered that it is not necessary, which is the highest portion; however, 83.2% of free meal plan students responded that it is necessary, which also is the highest portion and it is significant difference(p<0.001).
