The purpose of the study was to investigate integrated anaerobic digestion ratio of both dairy manure and crude glycerine and to set addition ratio of VS based 0% (GLY 0), 20% (GLY 20), 40% (GLY 40) and 60% (GLY 60), and to evaluate volatile solids reduction rate, biogas production, methane producti...
The purpose of the study was to investigate integrated anaerobic digestion ratio of both dairy manure and crude glycerine and to set addition ratio of VS based 0% (GLY 0), 20% (GLY 20), 40% (GLY 40) and 60% (GLY 60), and to evaluate volatile solids reduction rate, biogas production, methane production and other digestion stability. The anaerobic digestion was done at 38℃ for HRT 20 days, and each OLR consisted of 3.78 g-VS/L/day, 4.62 g-VS/L/day, 5.95 g-VS/L/day and 8.34 g-VS/L/day. The volatile solids reduction rate of GLY 20 accounted for 47.91% to be the highest and to have no significant difference with GLY 40. VFA concentration of all of four samples accounted for 2000 mg/L or more to be likely to prevent anaerobic digestion, and that of GLY 40 and GLY 60 was significantly high (P<0.05). Such a phenomenon had similar tendency with that of pH, and 8 days after adding crude glycerine, not only GLY 40 but also GLY 60 fell down to be 5.22 and 4.93 respectively at accumulation of VFA to suspend production of bio gas. GLY 20 produced gas of 1.72 L/L/day that accounted for the largest quantity to be significantly high, and it had 50.10% of methane content to be the highest (P<0.05). In this study, adding of crude glycerine increased bio gas production, and high C/N ratio of initial time raw material accumulated VFA to decrease pH. So, crude glycerine could be effectively used to be an integrated anaerobic digestion source so that adding of 40% or less was thought to be good.
