The propeller highly affects the distribution of air loads over the wing, the fuselage, and the empennage. The wake as well as the force and moments generated by the propeller needs their accurate predictions to get a high fidelity math model. Also, the unsteady effects due to the flight maneuvers should be correctly reflected in building the propeller aerodynamic model. For these purposes, a complex modeling for the propeller is derived and applied to various flight dynamic analyses in this thesis. The aerodynamic force and moments generated by the propeller are computed using the blade element method(BEM), where the air loads distributed over the blade span are numerically integrated. For the application of the BEM during a maneuvering flight, aerodynamic coefficients for the airfoils used in the blade are tabulated in C-81 format. The induced velocities over the propeller disc are estimated using the prescribed vortex wake model or the classical three-state inflow model. The wake trajectory is traced to computed the air velocity induced to the other aerodynamic components such as the wing, the fuselage and the empennage. The strip theory is adopted in computing the air loads of the main and tail wings to consider uneven distribution of the relative airspeed over wing components. Also, the wing induced velocity is predicted using the vortex lattice method with a rigid wake model. The fuselage aerodynamic loads are computed using the tables for the aerodynamic coefficients. These tables are based on the wind tunnel database and modified reflecting their changes due to wing component models. The modules for three areas of flight dynamic analyses, the trim analysis, the linearization of the motion equations and the flight simulation are developed. The flight performance, the stability and dynamic responses are analized for a propeller driven aircraft. The model fidelity of the analysis program developed in this thesis are validated by comparing the analysis results with the flight test data for a small scale aircraft. As the applications, the optimal trajectory generation techniques are utilized to investigate whether the present design of a propeller driven aircraft meets the certification requirements for the roll maneuver and the take off procedure specified in KAS-VLA 51, 157. The program for the optimal trajectory generation uses the pseudospectual method and the robust sequential quadratic programming(RSQP) algorithm. The pseudospectral method is one of the direct method and can efficiently solve the optimum trajectory generation problem. The transformed NLP problem was solved with the RSQP method with which maratos effect can be minimized and the problem with inconsistent constraints can be handled.
