Although Dosangugok is a representative Gugok-Wonlim of Andong of an outstanding cultural scenic value with natural view of the natural bounty and traditional culture, the beautiful humanistic and natural landscape elements from Valley 1 to Valley 6 were destroyed due to the construction of Andong Dam in 1971~1976 for securing agricultural water and industrial water. However, as the Valley 6 Cheonsa was hardly submerged for the past 10 years, it is time to examine the readjustment for restoring the old landscape of Dosangugok by conducting the water level control of Andong Dam. Therefore, this study was intended to increase closeness to the people by investigating cultural landscape characteristics by interpreting the landscape elements appeared in ancient documents in relation to Dosangugok and pathway of Cheongnyangsan Mountain sightseeing records, to present criteria for dosangugok to be designated as the world heritage, and the research results are as follows. First, Dosangugoksi was created by descendants and disciples who worship scholarship and ideology of Toegye from 18th to 20th century. For Valley 1 to Valley 6, which were submerged with Andong Dam, the cultural landscape is remained around structures as Goonja Village and Wolcheonseodang, and although many parts of natural landscape were destroyed, rocks on the riverside in Valley 4 Booncheon came into view during the dry season. Secondly, as a result of the field investigation, the Ocheon creek Goonja Village in Valley 1, Wolcheonseodang, Boorawollu, and Sungsungjae Head House in Valley 2, and accurate location identification was impossible for Valley 3 Odam, but Yeokdongseowon site was remained. For Valley 4 Booncheon, Nongam, Jungam, Sangam, Sajaam, Booncheon Gakja Bawui, Ssangam Gakja Bawui remained in Boongang. It was identified that Dosanseowon and Shisadan are remained in Valley 5 Takyoungdam, Naesalmi Village, Leeyooksa remains, Wollanjungsa, and Wangmosan remains in Valley 6 Cheonsa, the Dancheollli Village, Baekwoonji, Micheonjangdam, Haksodae, Kyungam in Valley 7 Dansa, Byeoklyeokam, Hansokdam, head house of Nongam, Boongangseowon, Aeildang, Ganggak, Gosanjung, and Gasonghyeop Danae in Valley 8 Gosan, and remains were widely distributed in Valley 9 Cheongnyang. Thirdly, for landscape elements of Dosangugoksi, the natural elements and cultural elements appeared similar from Valley 1 to Valley 5, the proportion of natural elements increased gradually from Valley 6, and natural elements appeared frequently from Valley 7 to Valley 9. This signifies that it is because Lee Hwang moved along the road towards Cheongnyangsan Mountain from Valley 6 although village schools or lectures halls and remains of prominent figures as Lee Hyun-Bo and Lee Hwang were concentrated in each valley up to Valley 5 Takyoungdam. Fourthly, as a result of analyzing the landscape elements of Dosangugok appeared in poems and sightseeing records and investigating central landscape elements of primary valleys, it was identified that the Valley 1 is Ocheon Goonjari, Valley 2 is Wolchonseodang and Boopo, Valley 3 is Yeokdongwootak and Yeokdongseowon, Valley 4 is Nongam and Aeildang, Valley 5 is Dosanseowon, Valley 6 is Wollansa and Wollandae, Valley 7 is Dansahyeop, Valley 8 is Gosanjung, and Valley 9 is Cheongnyangsan. Fifthly, when pathways of Dosangugok appeared in sightseeing records are put together, people started from Ocheon to Wolchonseodang and Yeokdongseowon, went by way of Nongam Head House of Booncheon Village and Aeildang, and lodged at Dosanseowon. Then, passed Cheonsa and viewed a wonderful sight of Dansahyeop, passed Baekwoonji, viewed a scenery of Gosan and Gosanjung, and arrived in his final destination, the Cheongnyangsan Mountain. The sightseeing of Cheongnyangsan Mountain mostly started in a standinging up, passed Yeondaesa, arrived in Jinbulam Temple and Keumtapbong, looked around Poonghyeol, Chiwonam, Cheongnyangsa, Chongmyeonsoo, and Yeonhwabong, passed Baekwoonam to head towards Jasobong, Takpilbong, and Yeonjeokbong, passed Manwoldae and Seokhakbong, and arrived in Janginbong. Accommodation was done in Yeondaesa and in Eungjinjeon underneath the Keumtapbong, and it is unclear which direction people headed to when they climbed down a mountain but passed by Yeondaesa, Kimsanggul Cave and Keumkanggul Cave. Sixthly, many places of high historical value where people can view historical sites exist in Dosangugok as mountain, hills, stream, village, and traditional remains. Also, a picturesque place in relation to famous buildings or life is located, and as waterfall, rock, cave, and legendary sites are dispersed mainly in Cheongnyangsan of Valley 9, it was identified that the valley is of great value as a place of scenic beauty and world heritage. Specially for 'Yedeongil' which is known as a road that Toegyeo walked on from Valley7 to Valley8, it is considered possible to be designated as a place of scenic beauty. Moreover, it is considered that it is necessary to prepare for the entire Dosangugok from Valley1 to Valley 9 to be designated as a world heritage through restoration. However, as supporting documents in relation to a close investigation and verification for restoration of cultural heritage and world heritage are not suggested in this study, it is to be remained as a following project.
