This research aimed at investigating any difference in lower body muscular strength, bone density and balance along with line dance exercise period and inspiring recognition on health promotion by analyzing difference in exercise ability of lower body muscular strength(isokinetic muscular strength), bone density, and balance test among the middle-aged women, among those who have exercised line dance for a long-term(over one year), those who have exercised line dance for a short-term(below three months), and who have not participated in line dance exercise. The objects of this research were middle-aged women, total 30 persons between the age of 55 and 65, who were divided into three groups, i.e. 10 of none-participation in line dance exercise(CON : Control Group), 10 of beginners of line dance who have participated in it below three months(BG : Beginner Group), 10 of superior group who have participated in line dance exercise over one year(SG : Superior Group). As the result of verifying average difference among the groups of the whole research objects with regard to lower body muscular strength(isokinetic muscular strength), bone density and balance test are as follows. 1. With regard to angular speed 60°/sec peak torque, significantly difference(p<.05) appeared in right flexor strength in the comparison of left·right flexor strength and extensor strength between SG group and CON group, also, significantly difference in left·right extensor strength appeared between SG group and CON group(p<.05, p<.001), and significantly difference(p<.05) appeared between SG group and BG group. 2. With regard to angular speed 60°/sec relative peak torque BW which considers weight, left·right extensor strength relative strength showed significantly difference (p<.05, p<.001) between SG group and CON group , also significantly difference(p<.05) between SG group and BG group, respectively, in comparison between left·right relative flexor strength and extensor strength. 3. With regard to angular speed 180°/sec total work done, left·right flexor strength total work done showed significantly difference(p<.05) between SG group and CON group in comparison between left·right flexor strength and flexor strength respectively, however left·right extensor strength total work done showed no significantly difference. 4. With regard to 180°/sec relative total work done(total work done/BW) considering weight, left·right flexor strength total work done showed significantly difference(P<.05, P<.001) between SG group and CON group respectively, however left·right extensor strength relative total work done did not show significantly difference. 5. With regard to T-score, Z-score, which are variables related to bone density, displayed higher value in order of SG, BG, CON, however no significantly difference appeared among the three groups. 6. With regard to static balance test, statistically significantly difference(p<.01) appeared between SG group and CON group in inspection comparison of standing with one leg with eyes closed. 7. With regard to dynamic balance test, significantly difference(p<.01) appeared between BG group and CON group in comparison of straight line walk with eyes closed inspection, also significantly difference (p<.001) appeared between SG group and CON group. Also in case of backward walk, significantly difference(p<.001) appeared between BG group and CON group, and between SG group and CON group. In conclusion, line dance exercise show positive difference in lower body muscular strength, muscular endurance, bone density, and balance, which are strength elements related to health, along with exercise period, it is considered that line dance exercise can be helpful for middle-aged women to be more healthy and able to live daily life. However, this research has a limitation to conclude clearly with the above results, therefore, in order to make a definite conclusion, it is considered that various researches along with the period of line dance with regard to line dance exercise intensity, period, and participation of various age groups are necessary, and it is considered that if the dance instructor knows the characteristics of middle-aged women's individual physical conditioning and physical strength elements, it will be more effective for safety, health maintenance and muscular increase improvement, besides prevention of injury.
