PID(Potential Induced Degradation) 현상은 태양광 발전시스템의 발전효율을 단기간에 저하시키는 열화현상이다.

Potential Induced Degradation (PID) is one of the degradation cases that the efficiency of a photovoltaic generating system is dropped in short time, and causes from a structure design of the photovoltaic system. To prevent this degradation, several solutions has been suggested. However, a definition of generated mechanism about PID has not been clearly discovered and many researches are on progress. Recently, one method of many solutions for PID is to deposit an anti-reflected on the surface of solar cell for preventing Na ion migration. Other methods are using high resistivity encapsulant material, recovering the PID via regeneration process, and transforming AC to DC through a micro inverter in unit of a module. In this paper, electrical properties after recovering PID via regeneration method and its repeatability was studied. A PID test is commonly performed by biased the same voltage in constant temperature and humidity conditions. In reality of PID preventing system, degradation and restoration were repeated by high voltage condition and forward or reverse voltage which was periodically biased at the photovoltaic system. In this reason, the problems of the reliability for a module was expected and influences of recovery process on a module included PID was analyzed. Furthermore, the lifetime of damaged module by HVS(High Voltage Stress) was analyzed based on variation of output power in the process of recovery. The severest PID test among the announced tests, 85 ℃, 85 % R.H with Aluminum Foil for 96 hour, was performed, and tested module was regenerated. This process was repeatedly carried out and each electrical properties was measured as 12 hour unit. From these measurement data, the critical points of electrical properties(Isc, Voc, Ipm, Vpm, Rs, Rsh) for the recovery process were confirmed. In conclusion, maximum power estimation formula was derived by using exponential functions and life time of the photovoltaic module with PID was estimated.
