The purpose of this study was to figure out the change in the error correction of mathematics learners when utilizing audiovisual material comprised of peer correction notes during the evaluation of the third grade ‘addition and subtraction’ section though teaching-learning activities in mathematics, and the change in the number of wrong answers by question types. This study set the following research questions. Question 1. Is there any change in the error correction of mathematics learners when using audiovisual material in addition to learners writing their own correction notes after error correction guidance led by the teacher? Question 2. Is there any change on the number of wrong answers by question when using the audiovisual material in addition to learners writing their own incorrect notes after error correction guidance led by the teacher? In order to answer these two questions, when creating these test papers, H Elementary School 3rd grade 3rd class students were subjected to the test first in order to verify ‘reliability’ and ‘identity’ between the pre-test, post-test(1), and post-test(2). S Elementary School 3rd grade 1st class students were asked to help make the audiovisual material program and S Elementary School 3rd grade 3rd class students were subjected to the aforementioned audiovisual material program in order to verify the effectiveness of feedback. Each group of students was not informed about the research beforehand and merely went about class as they normally would. The results found through the interviews and question analyses are as follows: First, students were classified into four types regarding the correction writing process. One student interviewed said he could understand if a he had the entire day to work on just one question. Thus, in this case, where it’s difficult for a student to correct multiple mistakes at a time, we can consider the use of the audiovisual material. It is also possible to present the audio-visual materials to students who have trouble paying attention to the teacher’s instructions, or to students who are ashamed or afraid to ask the teacher for more help. Moreover, it’s possible to present the audio-visual materials, in which their peers explain the solution process step-by-step at a relatively slow speed, to students who have forgotten the teacher’s explanation of the questions. This makes sense when considering that it could be the case that the speed of the teacher’s explanation is faster than the speed of the students’ understanding. Second, the researcher was to find the differences regarding question types. Four of the twenty questions were fixed through writing their own correction notes after error correction guidance led by the teacher, but were not fixed at all after utilizing the audiovisual material on the peer correction notes. Three of the questions were still missed due to the students’ record of low level performance in the class. Therefore, the researcher found that the two above methods were not effective on below-basic education students. Two of the twenty questions were fixed after utilizing the audiovisual material on the peer correction notes rather than when writing their own correction notes after error correction guidance. An interview telling us that utilizing the audiovisual material on the peer correction notes was helpful on familiar or easy questions answered incorrectly and helpful for students who found it difficult or cumbersome to write correction notes on their own. The remaining fourteen questions were the unfamiliar question students had not seen in textbooks and the questions step-by-step breakdown were more approachable to them in this format. Therefore, writing their own correction notes after error correction guidance is more effective and it is better to supplement the correction process with the audiovisual material on the peer correction notes. In addition, students can share the frustration caused by errors and figure out the process again to resolve the problem with their peers, so they can have a positive attitude in mathematics class. The meaningful results can be found in this regard. Key words : audiovisual material, peer correction notes, error correction
