The purpose of the research is to study the influence of Narcissistic mother's characteristics of their child's problematic behavior. The paper is a study of the clinical cases of counseling and psychological tests conducted aimed at children exhibiting behavioral problems and their mothers. This paper is organized into five chapters. The first chapter describes the motivation and purpose of the research, precedent studies, and methods and limitations of the research. The second chapter depicts self and selfobject, grandiose self and idealized self, shame and lack of empathy the characteristics of narcissistic tendency, and considering the child as the object of the selfobject. In chapter 3, through an actual clinical case, it contemplates clients' characteristics of narcissism and their important others, that is, how they interact with their family. The psychological inspection of their children who shows problematic behavior is also included. In addition, it describes affective communication based on projective identification as an important mechanism to provide mutually independent perspective. In chapter 4, as a therapeutic application, researchers made clients re-experience empathic selfobject and accepted new perspective on the juncture of the termination of counseling. The final conclusion is recognition that narcissistic people have negative correlation in their relationship with the child. However, the negative perspective toward people who have narcissistic tendencies cannot be attributed only to individuals. In other words, the influence of the background of individualized modern society that supports egocentrism, the distinct characteristics of Korean social culture, and strong sense of responsibility to mother on people having narcissistic tendencies cannot be overlooked. Therefore, instead of integration, overcoming differences and functional recovery have therapeutic meaning toward narcissistic tendencies, and furthermore, research in various viewpoints including social culture is essential for Narcissism. The research has significance in dealing with both side of mother and child through the practical and specific examples compared to other studies.
