This paper investigated the energy circulation system in the cremation facility. Most cremation facilities have been using substantial amount of LNG and heavy oil for cremation, and the exhaust gas is cooled down and discharged into the atmosphere. A simple approach for recycling the energy in cremation facilities is the hot water supply system using the heat exchanger. But real supply of this hot water is not easy because of the resident’s negative opinion that the water is heated by burning the corpse. Accordingly, This paper focused on the energy recovery in the crematory facility using the ORC generator. The Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) uses an organic, high molecular mass fluid with a liquid-vapor phase change, occurring at a lower temperature than the conventional water-steam phase change. As the result of this research, it is estimated that up to 50 kWh per hour can be recovered for three cremation chambers when ORC generation is adopted to a cremation facility. The ORC generation is considered as an efficient way that contributes to energy recovery and cost reduction of cremation facilities.
