본 연구는 삶의 의미를 발견하는 과정에서 의미추구가 의미발견과 삶에 대한 만족과 어떠한 관계를 갖는지 확인하고, 의미추구와 의미발견의 관계에서 긍정정서, 인지적 유연성이 매개하는지를 확인하고자 하였다. 서울, 경기 소재 4년제 대학교 대학생 538명을 대상으로 설문을 통한 자료를 수집하였으며, 설문지에는 의미추구, 의미발견, 긍정정서, 인지적 유연성, 삶에 대한 만족도에 관한 문항들이 포함되었으며, 변인들 간의 구체적인 경로를 파악하기 위해 구조방정식 모형을 이용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같았다. 첫째, 의미추구는 의미발견을 완전 매개하여 삶의 만족도에 영향을 주는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 의미추구와 의미발견사이에서 긍정정서는 부분 매개효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 의미추구와 의미발견사이에서 인지적 유연성은 부분 매개효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 의미추구와 의미발견사이에서 긍정정서와 인지적 유연성은 부분 매개효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the search for meaning has a relationship with the presence of meaning and life satisfaction, to examine the mediating effect of positive affect and cognitive flexibility between the search for meaning and the presence of meaning in life. A toatal of 538 undergraduate students was recruited for four-year universe in Seoul and Kyung-gi, South Korea. The questionnaire were composed of scales such as Search for meaning scale, Presence of meaning scale, Positive affect scale, Cognitive flexibility scale. These data were tested by Structural Equation Model(SEM). The findings of this study are as follows. First, the search for meaning did not directly affect satisfaction with life, the presence of meaning was fully-mediating effect between the search for meaning and satisfaction with life. It implies that the search for meaning does not directly affect satisfaction with life, but it affects satisfaction with life only through the presence of meaning. Second, positive affect was partially-mediating effect the relationship between the search for meaning and the presence of meaning. Third, cognitive flexibility was partially-mediating effect the relationship between the search for meaning and the presence of meaning. Finally, positive affect and cognitive flexibility were mediating effect the relationship between the search for meaning and the presence of meaning.
