Contributing Factors for the Registration Rates within Emergency Department Based Post-suicidal Care Program원문보기

환자의 거주지(OR: 14.92, 95% CI: 3.606-61.711), 사례관리자의 즉각적 개입(OR: 5.05, CI: 1.688-15.134), 입원환자(OR: 3.69, CI: 1.286-10.605), 과거 정신과 병력(OR: 3.52, CI: 1.216-10.201) 등은 개별적으로 지역 네트워크 등록에 영향을 주는 인자였다.

Purpose: This study was aimed to investigate the independent factors associated with the registration rate for the community-based post suicidal care program in emergency department (ED).
Methods: The prospective observational study was conducted between January and September 2015 at the academic ED in the tertiary urban hospital. During the study period, the pre-designed registry was recorded. The variables examined included the following: patients’ demographic data (Sex, age, address, type of insurance, marital status, level of education and history of previous psychiatric disease), suicide-related data (suicidal methods, combined drink of alcohol and a number of previous attempt), and management-related data (disposition at ED, physician’s training level, and etc.). Univariated and multivariated logistic regression analysis were conducted to identify factors affecting the registration rate for the community-based post suicidal care program.
Results: A total of 163 suicides were included during the study period. Of these, 33 (20.2%) were registered in the post-suicide care program. The factors such as a patient’s address (OR: 14.92, 95% CI: 3.606-61.711), immediate intervention by psychiatric healthcare center (OR: 5.05, CI: 1.688-15.134), admissions in hospital (OR: 3.69, CI: 1.286-10.605), history of previous psychiatric disease (OR: 3.52, CI: 1.216-10.201) had significant associations with the registration for the program.
Conclusion: The community-based post-suicidal care program which is available 24 hours a day should be operated in each district to increase the registration rate. The emergency physicians should actively consider the inpatient treatment program for suicidal patients and strongly recommend the registration to the program especially for patients without previous history of psychiatric diseases.
