The purpose of this study is to uncover factors that lead the cultural marketing decision and their inter relations, and to propose the method to conclude effective cultural marketing activities for Global firms in both profit and non-profit environment. According to the precedent studies of Integration Marketing Communication(IMC) strategy, Resource-based theory, Global marketing strategy and marketing sponsorships, the critical factors to marketing are drawn to be 1) top executive's perception 2) the firm's motive of competitive advantage 3) cultural event characteristic 4) localization of marketing 5) goodness of fit between firm and its cultural and art partner and 6) relationship management performance. 135 questionnaires out of 600 are in return with completion, and used for this study. Factor analysis and structural equation model analysis are conducted to examine the casual relations among the six variables by using statistical tools of SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. The model test of this empirical study results in three implications: First, the top executive's perception and the firm's motive of competitive advantage are two main factors that drive cultural marketing. The higher perception and the motive, the more renowned artists and venues are used for cultural marketing event. The reason why global firms use the already known and proven tool is to minimize the unexpected outcome such as less recognition of brand value. Second, the goodness of fit between the global firm and the cultural and art partner(sponsored partner) is the significant leading variables for performance; the common vision set by both the firm and the partner, and the firm's image retention of core competency and brand positioning are necessary to increase stakeholder relationship management. As cultural marketing activities are mostly in action with partnership, not the company alone, the professionalism of cultural management within the firm or cultural partner's organization is important to maximize the outcome the company wants to achieve for. Third, the firm's localization marketing strategy is influenced by the goodness of fit between the firm and the partner, and cultural event characteristic. The professionalism of the sponsored cultural partner dose not relate to the performance but only strengthens the firm's localization marketing strategy. There is no relation between the localization and the performance. In conclusion, the firm's motive of competitive advantage, and the good of fit between the firm and the sponsored partner are the major factors leading to the performance. Through cultural marketing together with the cultural and art partner, the firm can provide opportunities of enjoying cultural events to the local, and acquire the image that it wants to be from the local. This study suggests what the factors leading the successful cultural marketing strategy are for global firms in general, and can be further discussed to develop the sub-factors leading the cultural marketing strategy depending on the partnership, fim's size and target market.
