The purpose of this study was to examine the levels of self care ability and depression influencing the Quality of life in stroke patient.
The subjects of the study were 85 stroke patients getting outpatient and inpatient treatments at general hospitals located in seoul and the date was collected from September ,2015 to December, 2015.
As the seaearch tool, sociodemographic characteristics and Beck's Beck depression inventory(1961) modified for the stroke patients developed by Han Hong Mu's(1986), Pack Hye gyeong's Self care measuring tool(2003) modified by Lee Myung Yeon's(2009) . The Stroke Specific Quality of Life(SS-QOL) was used for measuring Qualrity of life.
The collected data were analyzed with real number and percentage, aberage and standard deviation, Pearson correlation coefficeints, t-test, ANOVA, by using SPSS PC+version21.
The following are the results of the study.
1. Subject's melancholy average value(standard deviation) was low to 15.47(12.50). In addition, subject's degree of self-nursing ability to perform was low in average value 55.66(16.59). However, the average value of the quality of life of the subjects was high in 182.89 (39.44).
2. The difference in the Self-care ability in accordance with the general characteristics of the study subjects showed a significant difference depending on occupation(T=2.864), paralysis site(F=3.769), presence or absence of other diseases(T=-2.067).
3. The difference in the Depression in accordance with the general characteristics of the study subjects showed a significant difference depending on gender(T=-2.148), occupation(T=3.171), Average monthly income(F=2.085), medical expenses burden person(F=9.837), paralysis site(F=20.85), presence or absence of other diseases(T=2.575).
4. The quality difference in the life in accordance with the general characteristics of the study subjects showed a significant difference depending on gender(T=2591), level of education(F=5.887), occupation(T=2.607), medical expenses burden person(F=7.757), paralysis site(F=3.068), presence or absence of other diseases(T=-2.963).
5. Quality of life of stroke patients and self-nursing ability to perform show a positive correlation. On the contrary, Quality of life of stroke patients and self-nursing ability to perform shows the negative correlation between the melancholy.
In conclusion, it is confirmed that there is a correlation among the stroke patients's self-nursing ability to perform, melancholy and patients's quality of life.
In order to improve the quality of stroke patients life, it is not only physical care but also improvement of self-care performance capability, to be conducted research to develop arbitration capable of reducing the melancholy.
