In modern society, Dental erosion due to ingestion of commercially available beverages tends to increase. The average acidity of common commercial drinks is pH 5.5, and the intake of low-acid drinks is one of the causes and causes of dental erosion. The longer the time that the drink fades in the mouth, the more intake frequency affects the health of the oral cavity like dental corrosion. Periodic fluorine coating is carried out for mineralization of the surface of the demineralized teeth due to dental erosion. However, in the previous studies on fluorine coating up to the present time, it is related to the effect of fluoride application and concrete research on the effect of fluorine application is insufficient. And trying to see the influence of fluoride application on teeth health by using carbonated water to induce demineralization of teeth in order to see the type of fluoride, number of application, and fluorine coating prevention effect by fluorine coating method. Commercial bovine tooth at the experimental stand was targeted to healthy bovine without occupied feet, cracks, fractures. As for the specimen production, after the removal of the root of a bovine tooth, the crown was cut out in bucco-lingual direction into a rectangle with 5 mm x 5 mm in diameters, then the tooth was firmly fixed to a plastic mold with a diameter of 40 mm and a height of 10 mm, embedded in a dental plastic mold in parallel with the floor using acrylic resin that is easy to manipulate and was ground using abrasive paper so that the surface of the bovine tooth would be perpendicular to the long axis of the acrylic resin mold. Following the method of fluorine coating, 5% NaF varnish and 1.23% APF gel were applied uniformly onto the surface of the bovine tooth exposed to the specimens using a micro brush for 4 minutes followed by drying for 30 minutes, and then the specimens were immersed in individually sealed airtight containers filled with artificial saliva solution diluted 1: 100 with 3 g artificial saliva solution and 300 ml distilled water for 30 minutes, then each step above was repeated either once or four times. After the immersion solutions were prepared by placing 30 ml of five kinds of beverages such as distilled water, Coca-Cola, Seagram, Trevi and Perrier into individual test plastic beakers as containers, a total of 125 specimens, which consisted of each five specimens untreated with fluorine, coated with 5% NaF varnish once, the same four times, coated with 1.23% APF gel once and the same four times, were immersed for 3 hours, immersed again for 24 hours, and then their surface hardness was observed depending on the methods and frequency of fluoride coating and beverage immersion time. In this study, the surface observation and component analysis were performed for the specimens before and after the immersion in distilled water, Coca-Cola, Seagram, Trevi, and Perrier. The results obtained from this experiment are as follows. First, after 3 hours and 24 hours of immersion in distilled water, Coca-Cola, Seagram, Trevi, and Perrier, surface hardness increased in the specimens untreated, coated with 5% NaF varnish once and the same four times in order showing the specimens coated with 5% NaF varnish four times with the highest surface hardness (p <0.05). Second, after 3 hours and 24 hours of immersion in distilled water, Coca-Cola, Seagram, Trevi and Perrier, surface hardness increased in the specimens untreated, coated with 1.23% APF gel once and the same four times in order showing the specimens coated with 1.23% APF gel four times with the highest surface hardness (p <0.05). Third, the surface hardness increased at immersing in distilled water after each coating according to the types of fluoride while the surface hardness decreased at immersing in Coca-Cola or the other carbonated waters to the lower levels than that of initial specimen, therefore, there was no difference in surface hardness according to the type of fluoride. Fourth, surface hardness increased at immersing in distilled water after each coating of four times according to the types of fluoride while surface hardness decreased at immersing in Coca-Cola or the other carbonated waters to the lower levels than that of initial specimen, therefore, there was no difference in surface hardness according to the types of fluoride. Fifth, fluorine components in the group untreated with fluorine were not detected in the components of the specimens immersed in the carbonated water according to the fluorine coating methods, and F ratio of the group coated with 5% NaF varnish to the group coated with 1.23% APF gel increased. Given the results above, there was no difference in the effect of preventing decalcification according to the fluoride coating methods by specialists, however, the more the frequency of fluoride coating, the more the effect of preventing the decalcification of tooth surface, and it is considered that an increase in fluorine compounds on the surface strengthens the hardness of tooth surface.
