Today, the growth and revival of Korean protestant church schools, are in crisis. This is a result of church school instructors being unable to react appropriately to the change of value systems of their learners. The purpose of this study is to discourage the traditional 'training model' that was used in instructor education, and to develop a new model suitable for this new era.Traditional training programs for teachers are essentially based on modern philosophy of education, teachings of subject-matter-based knowledge, and unilateral transmission of contents. However, our new era is in need of a more holistic teacher, one who encompasses intellectuality, sensibility, and spirituality. In addition, this era demands a teacher who holds an ability to form intimate relationships through transparent, open, and bilateral means of communication. The inner power of church school teachers must reside in a 'Holistic Leadership' in order to save souls in a world wrought with secular and diversified values. Most importantly, the identity and the grounds of leadership of Christian educators can be found in the Holy Bible. 'Holistic Leadership' is different from the concept of leadership influenced by the schooling system, one that is results-oriented and limited to only serve as a means of organization management. It is, in fact, the 'Leadership models in the Bible' that helps those who have sinned recover using God's shape. It is also a 'Coaching leadership,' demonstrated by communication of sentiments. Furthermore, it is also composed of 'Spiritual training' appropriated in real-life.Meanwhile, we propose 'identity formation programs,' 'communication enhancement programs,' and 'community spirit development programs' in order to support this new model of education for church school teachers. Additionally, for the effective conduct and evaluation of this model, we propose an organic system through which communities of faith can be kept alive, and also through which influential educators may be raised.
