The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of forest activities on preschooler's scientific exploration skills and scientific attitudes, thus finding out the value of forest activities and providing basic data on preschooler's forest scientific activities. For this, study questions were established as follows: 1. 'What is the effect of forest activities on young children's scientific exploration skills?' 2. 'What is the effect of forest activities on young children's scientific attitudes?' Study subjects were 32 five years old young children's at A and B Child-care Centers in G City. And 16 young children at A Child-care Center were distributed into an experiment group, whereas 16 children at B Child-care Center were distributed into a control group. Demographic features of children at both child-care centers were similar. Experiment was conducted in 16 sessions for 8 weeks, and the experiment group carried out 16 sessions of forest activities, whereas the control group practiced the scientific activities of Nuri Curriculum. In order to examine young children's scientific inquiry ability and scientific attitudes, this study used the developed by Cho, Hong Ja (2015) and the scientific attitude test developed by Yoo, Gyeong Sook (1999) and modified/supplemented by Lee, Kyung Min (2000). Collected data were statistically processed using the SPSS 16 program, thus analyzing the difference between the experiment group and the control group, and independent sample t-test was conducted to look into the effect of forest activities on young children's scientific exploration skills and scientific attitudes. Study findings are as follows: First, forest activities had effects on young children's such scientific exploration skills as observation, classification, measurement, reasoning, prediction and communication. After forest activities, both groups of which level of scientific exploration skills was similar in pre-test presented statistically significant difference in post-test. This finding seems to present the fact that forest activities have effects on young children's scientific exploration skills. Second, forest activities had effects on young children's such scientific attitudes as curiosity, volunteering, positivity, forthrightness, objectivity, openness, criticism, judgment reservation, collaboration and perseverance. After forest activities, both groups of which level of scientific attitudes was similar in pre-test presented statistically significant difference in post-test. This finding seems to present the fact that forest activities have effects on young children's scientific attitudes. Study findings present the fact that forest activities are effective in the development of young children's scientific exploration skills and scientific attitudes. Therefore, it is necessary to support for early childhood educational institutions to actively make the most of forest activities as a curriculum.
