Nanobubbles have been actively studied due to their unique characteristics, and meaningful results have been obtained. However, these studies have been limitedly conducted on water soluble solvents including water. There are few cases of application of organic solvents such as gasoline and diesel fuels. In this study, a new hybrid nanobubble generation technique that combines the decompression and cavitation type nanobubble generation techniques has developed. Particle size analysis and zeta potential measurement were performed to investigate the generation and stability of nanobubbles in fuel. After generation of nanobubbles in fuel, the concentration of nanobubbles was about 3.01×10^8 particles/ml, which was high level compared with that of each nanobubble generation techniques (decompression and cavitation type). The diameter of nanobubbles was distributed in a range from 50 to 400 nm, and increased with time. In addition, the concentration of nanobubbles was gradually decresed with time. These results can be explained by the Ostwald ripening effect. In addition, the generatged nanobubbles was maintained for more than 7 days, and the zeta potential of nanobubbles was maintained negative value. These results indicate that the nanobubbles was successfully generated in fuel by the hybrid generation technique and stably maintained for a long time.
