연구 방법: 스리랑카의 시회적기업가들의 사회적 기업가정신 활동을 파악하는 목적으로 사회적 기업가들의 면담을 하여 내용 분석 방법을 통해 면담 분석을 실시하였다.
결과: 데이타 분석을 통해 스리랑카의 기업가들은 사회적 영향, 혁신, 사업 규모 크기 확장, 기업가정신 접근성과 멘토링 등의 사회적 기업가 정신적인 활동과 연관이 있다는것을 발견했다. 또한, 분석을 통해 지역 개발과 사회적 영향 같은 최근의 경향을 발견하게 되었다. 지역 개발의 하위차원들은 건강한 생활과 환경보호로 나타나며 사회적 영향의 하위차원들은 커뮤니티 발전, 일자리 창출과 정책 발견으로 나타났다. 개인적, 경제적 그리고 사회적 특성이 사회적 기업가들이 어떤 활동에 관여하는지에 따라 긍적적 부정적 영향을 미친다.

Purpose: Social entrepreneurship is an emerging and increasingly important field in business cultures across the world. As competition grows in our ever more globalized society, the traditional and standard practices of businesses are becoming more and more antiquated. Being able to provide services beyond their company is what makes social entrepreneurs stand out amongst this competition and thus lead to future success in their industry. Because of the economic ability of large corporations, countries within the developed world have much greater ability at providing these services. However, as the developing world advances, they too have had their own surge of social entrepreneurship due to the societal benefits that it provides. This trend has gone largely ignored due to a myriad of factors such as size of markets and favouritism of certain countries. This research focuses on the social entrepreneurship in Sri Lanka and the impact that has had on the local community as well as potential global community in the future. It is a qualitative study showing how social entrepreneurship can work at the macro and micro levels and explores the benefits that the inherent necessity of social entrepreneurship in our contemporary society. This study was conducted mainly with the intention of understanding the phenomena of social entrepreneurship in Sri Lanka and then to contribute to the literature on social entrepreneurship in the developing countries and also to mitigate the research gap.
Design/Methodology/Approach: In order to understand the social entrepreneurial activities the Sri Lankan social entrepreneurs are engaged in, social entrepreneurs were interviewed and analysed the interviews using content analysis approach.

Personal, economic and social characteristics had both positive and negative influence on why particular social entrepreneurs engaged in particular activities.
