Universities are becoming a center for lifelong education through online and a key space for urban development. Managing college records from the production stage is very important. They can be utilized to establish university identities, carry out education and research, and increase efficiency of work.
The KORUS system has been developed to meet the need for college records management and the need for improvements in university administration. By linking administrative tasks and accounting of 39 universities, it can enhance the efficiency and transparency of university administrative information systems.

In this study, we looked at the KORUS system and tried archival analysis by focusing on one of them : the Business Management System (BMS). We reviewed the function of the BMS and investigated the evaluation and satisfaction of the system by interviewing actual users within the university. From surveys and interviews, we derived the problems and improvement measures of the BMS as follows.
First, users do not evenly use the functions of the KORUS system. As an improvement, more systematic training for users should be carried out, which should be done based on the cooperation of the Ministry of Education and universities. Also, the system should reflect the characteristics of universities and be simplified based on the necessary functions.
Second, Records Classification System of the system does not reflect all characteristics of universities. Due to the absence of the BRM, it is difficult to grasp new units, changes, and the status of electronic records created in 39 national universities. As an improvement, Records Classification System should be reorganized. Forging central BRM will support the classification of records produced by KORUS system.
Finally, no measures for long-term preservation of electronic records are in KORUS system. This could result in the loss of contextual information and metadata of electronic records within universities. Thus, an integrated records management function must be added within the KORUS system to provide long-term retention measures for electronic records. This method will reduce the cost and the hours associated with transferring electronic records. In addition, electronic records will be more stably stored and utilized.
We examined whether the KORUS system is capable of performing the functions of an Electronic Records Create System, and conducted interviews with the system users to identify problems and improvements. This study is significant in that it may provide a basis for improving the KORUS system in the future.
