The purpose of this study is to identify the attitudes towards aging types of older Korean adults, to examine the predictors of each types, and to investigate the relationship between types and mental health. Latent profile analysis, multiple logistic regression, and hierarchical regression analysis were conducted on a total of 390 people aged 70-92. We identified five types of attitudes towards aging: (1) physical positive·social negative(19%), (2) social positive·physical negative(34%), (3) all negative(11%), (4) mid positive(31%), (5) all positive(5%). Education, residency, functional limitation, subjective health status, and economic levels were the significant predictors of the types. Compared to 'mid positive', 'physical positive·social negative' and 'all negative' types showed higher levels of depressive symptoms and lower levels of life satisfaction. However, older adults belonged to 'all positive' group had lower depressive symptoms scores and higher life satisfaction than people in 'mid positive'. Based on these results, we suggested some implications for promoting mental health in later life.
