There are Dynamic Method and Geometric Method for Lateral Control of autonomous vehicles for path following. MPC (Model Predict Control) is a typical method for dynamic method, and Pure Pursuit, Stanley Method, and Vector Pursuit are examples of geometric path-following algorithms. The complex problem that we should consider is to solve dynamic parameters(vehicle, tires, and road conditions) in order to follow exact path that is calculated according to the geometric tracking method. This is the most problem because the computed traveling path and the traveling path of the actual vehicle have a lateral error. To solve this, there have researched many studies for MPC that estimate and calculate vehicle models in real time, but it stil also seems to be a lot of difficulties due to too many parameters to calculate and environments that meed to be dealt with for real-time environment. In addition, it is difficult to measure the tire slip rate and the steering response delay of the steering mechanism in consideration of all the environmental conditions that vary instantaneously in order to measure the actual vehicle on the road. This paper, therefore, suggests Pure Pursuit algorithm which is considered for vehicle weight distribution according to location of passengers to follow stable path for autonomous vehicle based on a geometric path tracking method (Geometric Method), and it is limited to the case where an autonomous vehicle travels on a curved road. I wish this research is expected to be used as a reference for autonomous trucks, buses, and huge cars, whose axes are changed depending on the weight and passengers on board.
