In this study, we analyzed effect of seawater intrusion mitigation countermeasures in Pohang considering sea level rise. Seawater intrusion damage area in Pohang was calculated using SEAWAT when applied steady-flow and representative concentration pathways(RCP)4.5, 8.5 climate change scenarios. The seawater intrusion numerical modeling results showed that seawater intrusion occurred in steady-flow 87.40㎢, RCP4.5 99.89㎢, RCP8.5 114.41㎢. As countermeasures to mitigate the seawater intrusion damage area, two countermeasures of limiting the amount of groundwater use and freshwater artificial recharge were applied. In the case of -20%, -45% and -60% of the groundwater use, seawater intrusion damage area mitigation ratio of the countermeasures for limiting the groundwater use were 1.76%, 2.15%, 2.86% in RCP 4.5, and 2.51%, 3.83%, 4.27% in RCP 8.5. In the case of artificial recharge of 500㎥/d, 200㎥/d, 100㎥/d, seawater intrusion damage area mitigation ratio of the countermeasures for limiting the groundwater use were 8.94%, 11.62%, 13.57% in RCP 4.5 scenario, and 16.43%, 14.28%, 11.27% in RCP 8.5 scenario. This results showed that freshwater artificial rechare was more effective than groundwater use limit in seawater intrusion mitigation.
