With the increase of the use of various smart devices, the importance of studies related to the position recognition service is emphasized, as most users of smart devices spend time indoors, the importance of studies of the indoor place position recognition service increases. The typical position recognition service is the way in which the signals are received from a satellite by GPS, and the user’s position is calculated. GPS has a merit that it can be used anywhere in the world, but signals are not well received indoors, and even if they are received, they contain many errors, so it is not used indoors. For indoor position recognition, studies are conducted on WiFI, Bluetooth and RFID; however, since most smartphones are equipped with WiFi function, this study uses WiFi which has a good accessibility and is available indoors without additional installation. Therefore, this study uses the random forest algorithm, an ensemble learning method of Multi-variate classification and fingerprint technology using the collected Received Signal Strength Indications (RSSI) of WiFI. As for the fingerprint data, four radio maps were produced and used, using the unique address (BSSID: The Basic Service Set IDentifier) for WiFi AP in addition to RSSI. As for the learning data of the random forest algorithm, only the data collected naer the place to be measured are used after filtering the WiFi data of the radio map already collected to increase the accuracy through filtering by the newly measured BSSID value. An experiment was conducted in a limited indoor space, using the simulation produced by the researcher. For an analysis of the result of the experiment, the method proposed in this study was compared with an indoor location recognition system that used similar WiFi signal intensity and a similar random forest algorithm. As as result of the experiment, it was proven that the system proposed in this study had a higher average position recognition accuracy and higher speed than the existing indoor location recognition system using the random forest.
