As the research and use of wearable robots increases, the demand for safety has increased. However, the research on the safety of currently wearable robots is limited. ISO 13482, which proposes safety requirements for wearable robots, does not suggest quantitative requirements for the safety of wearable robots. Therefore, in order to improve the safety of the wearable robot and to propose a quantitative requirement, an injury occurring in the wearable robot is studied. In addition to this, a measurement method is proposed so that the proposed quantitative requirements can be applied to actual wearable robots. Finally, to verify the proposed quantitative requirements, we develop a test dummy that is similar to the physical characteristics of a person. We collected the side effects of using the wearable robot and judged that the pressure ulcer was the most dangerous injury that occurred in the wearable robot. Then, the experimental data related to the pressure ulcer were collected and converted to the pressure that can be easily measured in the wearable robot, and a pressure-time wearable robot skin injury estimation algorithm was proposed. In order to apply the proposed skin injury estimation algorithm to an actual wearable robot, a sensor suitable for pressure measurement should be selected. Therefore, we developed the instrument to evaluate the sensor, and designed a sliding mode force controller for precise force control. Finally, we choose FSR sensor as a suitable sensor for wearable robot by using developed equipment. In order to verify the developed skin injury estimation algorithm, we developed a test dummy similar to human physical characteristics. The developed test dummy was made by using various silicon. Using the developed test dummy, we constructed a system to simulate the wearable robot usage environment and measured the pressure using the system.
