The aim of this study is to explore how to teach Korean pronunciation to native Arabic speakers effectively. Especially, this study focuses on the vowel pronunciation of Korean learners among Egyptian beginners. This study deals with Egyptian Colloquial Arabic, which is called 'Ammiya'. The earlier studies have focused on Standard Arabic 'Fusha', which often reveals errors in contrastive Arabic study. For this reason, this study attempt to contrast Korean language and Ammiya. Outcomes of this study demonstrate that Egyptian beginner suffer from pronouncing mainly six vowels [ㅓ], [ㅕ], [ㅒ], [ㅚ], [ㅝ], [ㅢ]. Sometimes they even pronounce [ㅗ] or [ㅜ] instead of [ㅓ]. At the same way, they shows a tendency to speak [ㅛ] or [ㅠ] instead of [ㅕ]. Therefore this study suggest that when they learn pronunciation of Korean vowels, they need to learn specific groups such as [ㅓ, ㅗ, ㅜ], [ㅕ, ㅛ, ㅠ] in order to clearly discern each Korean vowels. In Addition, the results of formant reveal that Egyptian beginners tend to pronounce with small and round mouth while withdrawing their tongues back. Consequently, this study recommends various teaching methods for Korean vowels are needed for Egyptian beginners, thus it will help Arabic students speak Korean language better.
