In the current Mobile Internet Era, we can select products from the convenience of our smartphones and pay for them just by entering our PINs (personal identification number) through mobile simple payments, and have the products at any place of our choosing on the same or very next day. This phenomenon is the result of the spread of ultrahigh-speed internet, the expansion of smartphone supply, and the relaxation of regulations for mobile simple payments. Yet, beneath the revitalization of online shopping malls or e-commerce is the undeniable fact that payment methods must be improved and supplemented. Generally, social conventions hold that, for online payments made through the PC or mobile devices, users must pay using their credit card through a PG (payment gateway) when shopping online, fees are higher than VAN (value-added network) for offline payments when using PGs, and the deposit cycle for product payments is extremely long at 7 days or longer. Thus, this study, which examines payment methods that require non-face payments to use PG services and offline face-to-face transactions to use VAN, will establish a research model based on the payment process of “User → Online Affiliates (Shopping Mall) → VAN → Credit Card” that excludes existing PGs and design a research system that realizes a Pilot System for actual affiliates in order to conduct empirical analysis and verification. When making payments online, the role of a PG is not connecting an affiliate to all credit card companies, but rather applying payment modules to ensure linkage with easy and quick payments. This has the advantage of allowing both the purchaser and seller to make transactions in non-face-to-face scenarios, but at the same time, it has the side effect of raising payment fees. This study system is also unable to support all forms of online shopping malls and e-commerce. In essence, restrictions must be placed when applying the system to independent malls that do not have any sub-malls. This requires a computing system and process that directly sends requests to credit card companies for transactional information according to the affiliate’s product sales. In the case of general small-and-medium sub-malls, the application of such a system would prevent general VAN services or affiliates from calculating payments arbitrarily. Of course, the recent emergence of specialized businesses commissioned to handle such tasks is alleviating such issues. This study designed a study system that excluded PG to realize a Pilot System that could conduct empirical verification on online medical expenses made via PC and mobile devices through major domestic credit card companies on large hospitals, which are actual affiliates. In order to compare the verification of payments in actual franchises to the payment methods of online large shopping malls through this study, log analysis was conducted on the Front Service (PCs, mobile devices) and the section between VAN and credit card companies (Back Office). Through the analysis of actual proof on actual affiliates as shown above, the study was able to confirm the simplification of payment processes, reduction of deposit cycles, and improvement in card payment fees in online shopping malls and e-commerce, and also discussed limitations encountered during the study as well as future agendas.
