This study identifies the impact of organizational communication on organizational citizenship behavior by means of informal learning, and examines whether the identified structural relationships differ by gender, position and affiliated group. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, organizational communication was set up as an independent variant, organizational citizenship behavior was set up as the dependent variant, and informal learning was set up as the parameter variant. The following three questions have been set up to address the topic of this study. First, ‘What is the appropriate model for organizational communication, informal learning and organizational civil behavior?’ Second, ‘What is the structural relationship between organizational communication, informal learning and organizational citizen behavior?’ Third, ‘Are there any differences between gender, position and affiliated group in the structural relationship? The objects of this study were Government Officials in Seoul City and employees working for H Life Insurance Company, which used 667 samples for analysis. Data analysis was conducted using the SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0 statistical programs for verification of the factors, verification of the study model, and verification of the parameter effects. In addition, the difference in path factors between study variants by gender, position, and affiliated group was verified through multi-group analysis of structural equations. Based on the results of the study analyzed in this study model, the following results were derived : First, it was found that the adequacy of the structural model of the relationship between organizational communication and the impact of informal learning on organizational citizenship behavior was appropriate. Second, organizational communication had the direct and indirect impact on organizational citizenship behavior, by means of informal learning. Third, we looked at the differences in the path of structural relationships by gender, position, and affiliated group, and found that there were no statistically significant differences in gender and position, but that there were statistically significant differences in the group. Specifically, the Seoul city government officials organization showed differences between groups in two ways : organizational communication has an impact on informal learning, while insurance company has shown differences in the effect of informal learning on organizational citizen behavior. The results of this study may provide the following implications : First, the better the organizational communication, the more informal learning becomes active. Second, organizational communication needs to be active in order to promote organizational citizenship behavior, and organizational communication can be promoted through the strengthening of informal learning. Third, the structural relationships of the previously identified organizational communication, informal learning and organizational citizenship behavior may differ among the groups involved, so the characteristics of the groups should be well considered. For example, a civil servant organization facilitates informal learning when organizational communication occurs well. In contrast, insurance company organization tends to make changes in organizational citizenship behavior when informal learning is active. Based on the limitations of this study, suggestions are as follows. First, there is a need to expand the scope of the study of informal learning by enhancing various sub-factors of institutional and noninstitutional informal learning. Second, further studies should explore how organizational communication, including qualitative studies, can influence organizational citizenship behavior by mobilizing informal learning. Third, the organization is limited to Seoul city government officials and Insurance Company, and the relationship between the three variants in organizational communication, informal learning, and organizational citizenship behavior has been treated. Subsequent studies need to be conducted with different groups or with different variants that express organizational citizenship behavior.
