This research was conducted to enhance the production process and systems for small and medium sized companies with characteristics of poly-business (many tasks), multiple layouts (many facilities), and poly-modifications (to fulfill the frequent changes in specifications according to the needs of client). For this purpose, the following process was selected and analyzed. That was suitable for small and medium sized businesses, and was one of the processes of manufacturing a government procurement computer especially. Also, there were not any ICT systems for that process. Required advancements of the process were drawn out and were prioritized in the order of contribution to the achievement of managerial goals Based on the IT productivity, we designed the basic Manufacturing Execution System (MES), and implemented a prototype of the system and finally analyzed the results of its prototype. The results showed 50% - 3 - improvement in the production rate, 366% reduction of defect products, a 200% reduction in inventory rate, and 2.04% improvement in delivery rate. The conclusions of this research are as follows. The small and medium sized businesses without ICT systems or companies with low productivity quality could increase achievement of managerial goals significantly through implementing a basic MES. And the system include only simple and basic production management, process management, production monitoring, material management, facility management, and quality management.
