In the past few decades, the well-defined fine line with high-resolution structure and good electrical conductivity drawn considerable interest due to it is the key factor of novel electronic devices. To manufacture the fine line, coating (spin, spray, dip) and printing technologies are the solution processing to deposit Nano-metal ink on an industrial scale. Furthermore, it is also important to develop the sintering method which turns the liquid and unconducive ink to conduct metal line. The advanced laser sintering approach for conductive, metal-containing ink is discussed in this thesis. As a fast, efficient and inexpensive method, however, it only sinters several hundred Nanometer depths. For improve the sintering results. The laser wavelength, Beer-Lambert law and material light absorption and thermal conductivity are studied. In this work, the green laser(532nm) is used to sinter Ag and CuO Nano-particle ink at different laser power and speed. The UV laser (355nm) is used to ablation the sample to measure the thickness. To verify the different sintering property of Ag and CuO Nano-particle ink the multi-layers structure was demonstrated. The sintering results were observed by multi-meter, microscope and scanning electron microscope (SEM and FIB). As a result, at the same condition, the CuO ink can absorb more energy of green laser than Ag ink which means the CuO ink can generate more heat than Ag ink. As the matter of this property, the multilayers sample with CuO coted get the high thickness and better conductivity(14.6Ω) than the pure Ag layer.
