The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of group play therapy on the self-efficacy of multicultural family children. The research subject is the primary school multicultural children who were informed the information about this study through the notice at T center of U city and desired to improve their self-efficacy. Among them, the study included 16 high grade elementary school students that understood the purpose of the study and submitted the consent. Eight persons each were randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups. From March 12 to April 17, 2018, 60 minutes per session a total of 12 sessions of this program were implemented twice a week. For this study, the self-efficacy scale, which had been developed by Jeong-Eun Cha(1996), devised by A-Young Kim(1997) and transformed by Hye-Jin Han (2002) into the expression appropriate for elementary school students in the fifth grade of elementary school, was utilized. In data processing, an independent sample t-test of experimental group and control group was conducted to validate the homogeneity and in order to verify the effectiveness of the program, the Repeated Measure ANOVA was implemented. n The results of this study are as follows.: First, group play therapy proves to be effective on the overall self-efficacy of multicultural children. Second, group play affects positively on each sub-domains(self-esteem, task difficulty preference, self-regulated efficacy) of self-efficacy of children in multicultural families. Therefore, it is verified that the group play therapy of this study is effective in improving the self-efficacy of children of multicultural families.
