At the point where Korean society moves into a multicultural society, the life of married immigrant women exists. The purpose of this study is to explore empowerment in mothering of married immigrant women in Korea. The marriage migrant women want to talk about their empowerment by revealing the oppressive elements that exist in the Korean society about the voices in the process of performing the mother role. The growing interest in immigrants and multiculturalism in Korea began with the influx of migrant workers and marriage immigrants in the 1990s, which means that there is a population policy or economic perspective in the background of Korean immigration. Korean marriage immigrant women are in the position of a woman and foreigner mother. The maternal ideology in the patriarchal society that identifies women as mothers makes the responsibilities of mothers' roles to women universal. In addition, it often leads to the reality that migrant women are given responsibilities such as child rearing, housework, economic activities, and support for old parents. It is necessary to reflect on whether they are recognized only as reproduction tools. Migrant women should positively raise questions about respect for cultural diversity and the status and rights of immigrant women, rather than the issue of concern or warmth. First, I examined the socio - cultural characteristics of marriage immigrant women experienced in 'mother' role. The Korean society's eyes toward migrant women are targeted by the beneficiary position, which should be viewed as a person from a poor country for economic reasons or should be supported from a policy perspective. While migrant women can not exclude economic reasons for choosing international marriage, they can not bring it back to the meaning of marriage. In the case of economic motives, I think that they have an act of planning their lives in a subjective way and living an independent life for a better life. The laws and institutions surrounding maternity for married immigrant women are important factors in determining their position in Korean society. Spouses and families who selected international marriage were able to find that there is an implicit consensus that the marriage immigrant woman is a Korean citizen and the performance of the birth is exchanged. The right of married immigrant women to stay in a stable Korean society is important, but there are many cases in which the information on the acquisition of permanent residence or nationality is not well informed or the spouse is not actively interested. In particular, since the husband is in a position to control her status of residence, it is difficult to secure her rights as a member of the Korean society if her relationship with her spouse is unstable. In addition, Korean society is not functioning adequately for domestic violence. Why domestic violence is not treated as a crime should face the reality of Korean society. Domestic violence is never a personal matter and can not be solved by the efforts of individuals. From domestic violence, married immigrant women are not fully supported by the physical, social and institutional safety nets that can defend themselves. Multicultural centers and shelters provide education necessary for self-reliance and we are actively demanding changes in consciousness of the people in charge. There are many changes in the composition of multicultural families. Migrant women who are divorced or widowed are more economically vulnerable than their spouses and have great difficulties in raising and educating their children. Especially, in case of not acquiring nationality or permanent residence, divorce and bereavement have difficulties such as responsibility for child care and economic activity at the same time. The following are experiences in the empowerment process in the role of mother of married immigrant women. In the process of mother role, becoming a citizen and mother, overcoming the contradiction of reproduction, we recognized the empowerment process by recognizing and giving voice. After entering Korea, immigrant women gain empowerment in the process of mothers' role, but the responsibilities of mother role to women are also a factor that hinders social activities and self realization. However, they do not give up such a difficult situation, but show the power to bring change and challenge to an active subject. First, there is a process of critical reflection on the whole life part of experience in the role of mother. Marriage migrant women build up diverse strategies for their lives by experiencing and recognizing Korean society's oppression and inequality around them. The motivation for family support, stabilization of life and economic independence in the entry of Korean society through marriage is active subject, not passive or beneficiary position, but subjective life choice. Divorce, remarriage, and independence that are experienced in marriage can also be seen as dynamic changes. Second, married immigrant women play a role of social reproduction by raising the next generation or through economic activity. In the process of becoming a member of the immigration bureaucracy, the mother becomes a 'Korean' or 'mother of a foreigner'. When married immigrant women are recognized for their unique culture in their role as mothers, they gain confidence in family and community support. In particular, linguistic competencies are their strengths and strengths in mother role performance. When married immigrants are recognized for their unique culture in their role as mothers, they gain confidence in family and community support. In particular, linguistic competencies are their strengths and strengths in mother role performance. However, when they are not recognized within the family or community, they feel depressed or deficient. The acknowledgment and support of cultural diversity is the point where multicultural education is needed to change the perception of the society members who accept culture. Family and community communities should sympathize and support to be proud of the importance of linguistic and cultural capacity of migrant women. Third, as a role of the community network, it is possible to expand the network from the family community to the local community and to see the Korean society from an objective perspective. As they move from the family community to the local community, they can understand Korean culture from various perspectives, integrate their own culture with Korean culture, and reconstruct their identities. By meeting people from countries such as immigrants' meeting, they will have a sense of identity, comfort and solidarity. This community network needs to be made more robust and supportive. The social network of married immigrant women is a social support network, and it has an important role for them to exert their own social capacity. Fourth, the law and system should be systematically supported in terms of ensuring human rights and rights, not the point of reproduction of maternity, in order to secure their right to stay and social rights. The conflicts and problems surrounding the maternity of migrant women in Korea are still being transfered to the responsibility of the individual or the family. At the point of vulnerability, the public system must be able to function properly and fully support them. Finally, it is necessary to reestablish multicultural education in lifelong education. Multicultural education should not only acknowledge mutual understanding and difference, but also recognize the oppression they feel. The role of education to create a space of resistance is needed to voice the structural inequalities they experience and face. Through them, Korean society should build positive relationships with the belief that they are learning a new culture.
