The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of pitching types and kinds on elbow injury risk in high school baseball players through kinematic and kinematic analysis. Using the motus baseball sleeves and speed guns for 15 over-hand pitchers and 7 side-arm pitchers playing in the high school baseball league, the speed of the ball along with the fastball and curve, the maximum rotational speed of the forearm, angle between ground and forearm at release time, the maximum external rotation angle of the shoulder, and the and the elbow varus force were measured. Two-way repeated measures ANOVA was used to compare the risk factors of elbow injuries according to pitchiching types and kinds. The significance level for the analysis was set to ⍺ = .05. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the pitching types (p = .000), pitching kinds (p = .000), pitching types x pitching kinds (p = .000) Side arm pitchers were faster than overhand pitchers in both fastball and curve, Both the overhand hand and the side arm pitcher were fastball faster than the curve. The maximum rotational speed of the forearm showed a significant difference between pitch type (p = .035), pitch type (p = .000), pitch type x pitch type (p = .000). The sidearm pitcher has faster maximum speed of the forearm in both the fastball and curve than the overhand hand pitcher. The sidearm pitcher had a faster maximum rotational speed of the forearm in the fastball, The overhand hand pitcher had a faster maximum rotational speed of the forearm in the curve. Angle between ground and forearm at release time was significantly different (p = .000), The overhand hand pitcher had a larger angle between ground and forearm at release time than the side arm pitcher. The maximum external rotation angle of the shoulder was significantly different between the pitching type (p = .004) and the pitching type x pitching type (p = .008) Side arm pitchers had greater shoulder maximum external rotation angles in both fastballs and curves than overhanded pitchers. There was a significant difference in the elbow varus force between the pitching type (p = .002) and the pitching type (p = .002), The sidearm pitcher had more elbow varus force than the overhand hand pitcher, and the fastball had more elbow varus force than the curve. Based on the above results, it was confirmed that the difference in the risk factors of elbow injuries among high school baseball pitchers can be explained according to pitching types and pitching kinds, Side arm pitchers are more likely to have elbow injuries than overhand handlers, and fastballs are more likely to have elbow injuries than curves
